The league wide and media consensus was Fultz was a better prospect than Lonzo. He was labeled the clear best player in the draft class for his entire freshman season. Only someone who didn't follow a second of college or the NBA draft would be unfamiliar with him.

Fultz totally flew under the radar as the #1 pick of the draft.

Our good friend LeVar Ball has decided he's going to start a basketball league of high school graduates who don't want to go to college for one year. He would pay players between $3,000 and $10,000 per month to play, presumably from Big Baller Brand Company that Ball owns.

This guy is a real treat. It's like he's 21 years old and has no understanding of anything big picture. The reason the college model works, is that it allows kids to use their athletic abilities to pay for some if not all of college expenses. THAT'S the reward. Most of these kids are not going to play professional basketball. Of the ones that can, only a few of those will make enough money to take care of themselves, let alone a family.

Ball misses the boat in so many places. It's well known that only a few schools make alot of money. Remember, the NCAA has to look out for ALL member institutions, not just 15 or 20.

If some of our major athletes really want to tackle oppression and social injustice. Please begin talking to these kids going to college to take full advantage of their great opportunity to a college degree and making a better life for themselves. Stop pointing at .02% of situations that come up that support your cause, tackle the bigger problem.

Pretty good lineup of NBA games for Christmas Day, all 5 games were good games, went right to the end. Quick change over the last week. The Rockets may have been tabbed as the best team in the NBA a week ago, and now have 3 losses in a row.

Can't teach an old dog new tricks, our old friend Dennis Rodman is back in the news....He's checked himself into an alcohol treatment center again after a recent DUI charge.

I'll be honest, after Rodman retired from the NBA in 2000, I said then he'd be dead in 10 years from the lifestyle he chose to live. I'm really surprised he's still alive, or not in prison. Let's hope at some point he can get his life in order.

Yeah, that was downright terrible. Funny that LeBron can't spell Prozingis or Westbrook.

I don't know that the NBA could have come up with a worse idea than having captains and a draft. Just a goofy idea, and it puts alot of division in the players and especially the captains. But the NBA is the NBA, it's not afraid to try things.

No it doesn't. It puts zero division in the players or the captains. This isn't the MLB where the winning team gets home field/court advantage. It's a glorified pick up game.

Hmmm, it made me actually give a $h!+ about the game for approximately 6 seconds which is approximately 6 seconds more than I would have. I actually read the rosters which is something I would not otherwise have done. I'm pretty sure it sparked some interest.

Wow LBJ's team is stacked.

Pretty funny he's got Westbrook/Durant and Irving/LeBron on the same roster

Too bad for Boogie

If it was AD injured, I could see them dealing Boogie now. AD isn't going anywhere, though.

Does this trade really help either team? Griffin is the centerpiece, but the Pistons gave up so much to get him they don't have much left.

Pistons have plenty left. Bradley has been awful and Tobias Harris' production is replaced and bettered by Griffin. Bradley was eating into minutes that Luke Kennard needs anyway.

Not a Knicks fan, but you have to feel for Kristaps Porzingis. ACL tear, out for probably at least a year. It's may be the start of the '19-20 season before we see him again. Big guys and leg injuries (Sam Bowie, Greg Oden), not a good sign.

Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance for Isaiah Thomas, Chaning Frye and Cavs 1st. Very beneficial for both teams.

We can't be overly shocked the Lakers are playing their best basketball with Lonzo on the sidelines. How long before Magic pulls the plug on this circus?

They've lost their last 2 games by a cumulative 30 pts to two teams with a combined 49-66 record...

They've also won 8 of their last 12, including two wins over the Thunder, a win over the Pacers and Celtics.

They also went 4-1 with a win over Houston with Lonzo in between his 2 injuries.

During their last 12 games they've also lost to Memphis, Dallas and Orlando.

Where to start with this gem????

"We were told that Lonzo would be better than Steph Curry..." The only guy saying that was his deranged loudmouth father.

"I don't recall any banter about Fultz. Most didn't even knew who he was." really? you heard nothing about the #1 pick in the draft, and had no idea who he was?

IT went from likely getting a $100 million extension to having to play his way back into the league on a 1 year contract next season

Where to start with THIS gem...

More than one expert (and LeVar is not an expert in anything but being a baffoon) were all on board with Lonzo from his days at UCLA, to the draft, to training camp and early season... Chris Broussard, Jalen Rose, Kenny Smith, Charles, Adrian Wojo, you name them.

I"m a Sixers fan, of course I heard about Fultz and read up on him before the season. Do I remember him at all at Washington, nope. We knew Lonzo was a one and done before the first UCLA game last year.

I can't speak much about hockey, the Olympics, UCF, boxing, golf and some of those sports, but the majors, football, basketball, baseball I follow pretty closely. And when has there become a level of knowledge you need to have before you post on Yappi??
