This series will tell alot about whether the Cavs can turn it on for the playoffs. If it goes 6 or 7, I doubt they make it to the finals.

Kyrie has been guarding PG entirely too much. Not even off screens.

He had help alright...the Cavs shooting 50% from the line. It is pathetic that professional basketball players can't make at LEAST 7 out of 10 free throws...middle schoolers can.

Rough one to watch and very concerned about their chances going forward. With that said, getting the win was crucial. That basket for Indiana goes in, not really sure the Cavs would even win this series. Not a good start.

The Cavs have squandered so many big leads this season, especially late in the year, that they lost a very important, no-so-intangible element heading into the playoffs: the fear factor. When they get a double-digit lead, it's no longer intimidating because they have proven time and again they don't possess the knockout punch they had last year. Teams, especially one like Indiana who was one of the teams who came back from a big deficit to neat them, keep attacking because the Cavs seem to ease up when they get a "comfortable" lead. It could cost them dearly this post-season.

No killer instinct.

Holy smokes, how bad is their interior defense? The bigs seemed content to p!$$ and moan at each other every time they got beat rather than play harder. Sure glad Lue held back all of the great new defensive stuff for the playoffs. This team has none of the defensive intensity it had last season.

Yeah, he's gone, and their other big intensity guy from last year has a Kardashian in his ear.

Most good field leaders always have a few guys that jump to it enthusiastically when the LeBron-type guy "flips the switch". Then the other guys follow suit.

A lot of overreaction to a [winning] playoff performance.

Cleveland still looks like the favorites in the East and unlikely to beat GS in the finals. Which is the same as it was before game 1.

And the same as it was last year. And we see how that ended up.

Cavs might as well not even get a lead, because they can't play with one.

Seems like all the playoff games this year are going to come down to the wire for the Cavs, just how it is.

I would have said this a month ago, but the Cavs just don't look right. I'm not sure there is a team in the East that can be them in a 7 game series, but I think it's going to be much tougher to get to the finals than last year.

I said they're still the favorites in the East after game 1. You disagree?

I mean, they'll likely win the East, but their defense is and has been atrocious all year. That is not going to change, thus I see a slim to none chance they could beat Golden State. However, there is always the possibility that LeBron and Kyrie both go for 40 in a game at the same time, as they pretty much did for three straight to beat GS last year

Last year's series came down to the final minute of game 7. Couldn't have been closer.

Cleveland basically ran the same team back this year(to be fair, they had to, no other options given the cap situation.)

Golden State added one of the 5 best players in the league.

It would be one of the great all-time NBA accomplishments if Cleveland were to defeat them again this year.

The most important player in the NBA playoffs this year is not LeBron, Steph, Durrant, Westbrook, Hardin or Kawai Leonard. It's Draymond Green. If he doesn't go postal last year and get suspended in game 5, it's likely back to back titles for the Warriors.
Green could go nuts at any time, he's just wired that way. Someone will push his buttons sometime in the playoffs, how he handles that will determine if the Warriors win it this year or not.

What does Draymond's suspension last year have to do with this year's playoffs?

I have to agree with 14red about Doo-rag, Hard-on, and Kool-aid not being important players.

Up 2-0. Can't complain about that. However, another 19 point lead squandered. Although this game was never really in question down the stretch, they need to learn how to finish. You let a good team creep back within 5 or 6 points, and before you know it, they beat you.

Glad to see Paul George continue to alienate his teammates.

I think Indy will take one in Indy.
