Great comeback but Duke still is not where they should be. Sometimes having too much talent is a bad thing. It seems they often don't have the right mix playing together at the right time. I would start Jackson because he's a true point and I would have Bolden starting until Giles gets his stuff together.

I was furious with their 1st half performance. It's not that hard to defend the pick and roll. That said, Amile Jefferson might be the most underrated player I've seen at Duke.

Capel must've gotten on yappi because he started Bolden and Jackson. Kind of surprising to see Allen and Kennard not starting though. I get mixing it up. But the problem this year hasn't been Kennard. He's been the most consistent player this year and is not the guy you want to tick off. I hope his confidence doesn't slip because of this.

This team just doesn't care. This is a pathetic Defensive team.

This team's toast. What a complete failure of a season.

Longing for the days when Duke had a true point guard who played pressure defense. If the Devils get it together, it doesn't look like it will happen before Tourney time.

Jefferson and Jones are doing their part, imo. And, I can excuse the freshman to a point. They are still pretty inexperienced. Kennard and Allen get their points and assists.

Getting burned on the same play three times in a row near the end was not cool. I really don't know the answer except to keep working on it!

Watched some of the game down the stretch last night. Duke simply can't guard anyone. NC State got great shots down the stretch. Most college one dones have achieved their status on the offensive end, not the defensive end. Many of these guys find out quickly that they are terrible defensive players. Duke has alot of blue chippers who dont' know how to play defense. As long as your better than the other team offensively, that's fine. But when your equal, defense takes over.

Yep. Duke used to create offense with its defense. As the years have gone by and they have recruited more and more one-and-dones, that has largely ceased to be. I still follow Duke, but am not the avid fan I once was. Now, when they lose I just move on to the next thing. I guess that is good in a way.

As you stated, defense rules. And, I will add - again - I'll take experience over raw talent every day of the week and twice on Sunday! It's all good...

It's weird K can't seem to manage the few one and done's + veteran's the way Cal does. Cal's teams only do very well when he has a good mix of both, K can't seem to find that balance.

The 2015 Title team was a mix of both. This team's failures are due to their "best" player being a total head case and horrible leader.

What a comeback. No surprise, got homered at Wake, almost as back as the game back in '08 where 5 starters fouled out. Kennard is such a boss.

Got home from work in time to see the last ten minutes. Until Kennard hit those two threes back to back to bring the Devils within four, I was prepared for a loss to an improving Wake team.

^ Bold above: And, he is such a humble, well-mannered young man. Refreshing! For him, there is no "I" in "team". Mid-west (Ohio) values.

What's crazy is he's actually right handed. The only thing he does left handed is play bball, that's unbelievable hand-eye coordination.

Yes, a natural righty. I do understand he can play golf from either side. I can putt lefty, but swinging a club from that side is a different story! Notre Dame coming up, I believe. ACC.

Solid road win. Everytime ND made a run to get it close, Duke answered.

Not Duke's best game, but a win is a win. Good to see Allen playing up to the level he was expected to early this season.

I have come to the conclusion he is not capable of not tripping. Still, it won't be an issue in the nba where anything goes.

Dookies will have to play better vs. the Heels. Boys against men.

They need their bigs aside from Jefferson to step up. Giles is showing improvement, Bolden had one good game and disappeared, and I guess Jeter is hurt? Kennard has struggled a bit after the Wake game, but he can go off at any minute.

I don't know what's up with Bolden or Jeter. Thought Jeter would get in a bit as it's not as if he is inexperienced. In close games, Coach will go with his best six or seven and would probably play only four if he could get away with it!

Kennard is so smooth! Goes with the flow...

Just checked box score. Bolden did get a minute, somehow. Giles seven.

Somewhat unexpected, but nice...

Didn't get home until halftime. Ugh! Glad Carolina had an off-night at the free throw line.

Ugly win. Great defense on last play saved Devils. Tired from start to finish. Very tired.

Kennard had something left in the tank.

Yes, he played with energy the entire game, scaring me a couple times how hard he went to the boards. Allen turned his ankle early in the game and it looked to me it hampered him at times. In their defense, there was a quick turnaround from Thursday night's game vs. Carolina.

Still don't understand why they don't play Jeter more unless he is hurt. Jefferson said he is still not 100% from his ankle injury, but you wouldn't know it.
