Stafford pointed out that he would like to go to get to the point where they're bringing in smaller recruiting classes.

Is 10 a lot? I don't know, seems like a reasonable number if you build in natural attrition. I would expect you'll lose 3-4 by Senior year for any number of reasons in almost any program.

Division 1 = 14 scholarships to divide, average roster size of 28. I'm not sure that 10 is completely out of line. Surely there are some better informed that can give us some insight.

I like Neil and Nate. They work well together and have revitalized the UC program in the last 3 years. I remember just a few years ago that UC finished last in the Big East and were ranked 227th in the nation. Since then UC has had a winning season every year and in 2015 made the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2002.
Since the local college recruits don't think much of Neil's program he has had to step outside of the tri-state area and entice players from Colorado, Michigan and has a streamline of players from Canada. It has worked and some of the locals have decided to stay home.
I honestly don't care if Neil plays "thugball", parents hate his guts, he misses out on players from Kentucky, wears Jockey underpants, has 30+ players on his roster,(have you ever seen UF's roster 40+). The two thing's Neil should evaluated on is if his players graduate on time and his record.
Well, it looks like he is doing damn good job. His players have 3.5 GPA and he has an overall winning record.

If AD was evaluated on parents/players/fans/administration not liking him, he
would never have the results he has.....even though he is an A55!

UC is lucky to have Neil Stafford he won't be here long!

That was a short tenure. She coached as many games for X as Mal Pugh played for UCLA. That's too bad. It's not good for Xavier. I'd like to see them get on track and have some success.

Everybody loves the hometown team and UC is a joke!
Did you know that UC voted against multiyear scholarships for womens soccer !

That right there tells you everything you need to know about that school and what to expect if you play there.
Coach plans on cutting players as soon as season is over.
whatever happened to loyalty ?

Again, I don't get your cynicism. Before Neil Stanford arrived, UC was ranked around 250 out of 330 D1 schools. For 2016, they finished ranked 75. That doesn't sound like a joke to me.

More important, the overwhelming majority of D1 and D2 scholarships across all sports are renewable each year. This is no different than how academic scholarships are handled. Most of those are renewable as well. Before you bad mouth a program, you should at least get your facts straight.
