Best and Worst Sports Months of the Year

...and to specify, let's say we're only talking about team sports that you view on TV (high school sports and live viewing experiences are excluded).

Here are my takes:

BEST MONTH

January

-Best week of College Football Bowl Season starts with the new year
-College basketball conference play is underway
-NBA season is in full swing
-NHL season is in full swing
-NFL regular season ends and play-offs begin
-European soccer season is in full swing

WORST MONTH

July

-MLB season is in full swing
-MLB All-Star Game
-MLS season is in full swing
-International Champions Cup for soccer (glorified preseason tournament)
-NBA summer league
-Arena League football

Obviously depends on what your favorite sports are but my favorite is March/April due to March Madness and baseball season. A close second would be early fall due to college football. I could care less about NBA NHL or NFL.

Best: week 1 of high school football through week 10 (through week 16 is an acceptable answer)

Worst - the time in between the end of high school football until it starts up again

Best month: October

MLB playoff baseball and world series
College football going strong
NFL going strong
You can even catch a NBA or NHL game if you are a degenerate gambler

Worst: February

College B Ball the only thing worth watching

I'd say July is the worst for sure

But i'd go with August being the best.
-European soccer starts
-High School football starts
-college football starts
-baseball pennant races heat up

Though June is close behind

-nba finals
-stanley cup finals
-Euros or World Cup every other year

Worst- August- August is just brutal. Baseball in its dog days, horrible pre-season baseball. You have the least exciting golf major the PGA and the Summer Olympics every four years, but otherwise August is awful for sports.

Best- October- baseball playoffs; college, high school and pro football in full swing; sometimes the end of the Ryder Cup; start of the NBA and NHL. I like May too with Spring in the air, baseball getting into full swing, Triple Crown Races, the Indy 500, NBA and NHL playoffs...

August is the worst, followed by February.

October is tops by a decent margin

July is the worst. No season starts or ends then, you have MLB and MLS in full-swing (as mentioned) where not much has happened except maybe some separation for playoff positioning.

The best, to me, would be April. You have NHL playoffs, NBA playoffs, the last of the NCAA Final Four is now played in April, baseball starts, and the NFL still has a lot of intrigue as the draft is around the corner at this time.

Football is great, but goes for several months. I couldn't pick one month above the other. October might be good for baseball, but it's not really anything notable for football. January is the bland part of the NBA/NHL seasons, and the NFL playoffs aren't able on their own to make me look forward to that time period. And the Super Bowl is in February, which is a busy, but not 'exciting' time of the sports calendar.
