Hopefully, attendance will pick up in Canton and The Woodlands (north of Houston) versus Salem. It has looked embarrassingly bad on the ESPNU broadcast lately.

The Woodlands location must be banking on a ton of college football fans in the area. The PROBLEM is that HS football will still be going on in Texas. There will be games probably at NRG Stadium, which will draw a lot of eyeballs and attention away from this game.

And odds are, it won't be a Texas school in the game. The weather will be beautiful. But, the midwest would've worked better for travel for the fan bases.

In other post-season college football news, the Miami Beach Bowl will be moving to Frisco, Texas after being purchased by ESPN. Considering it wasn't in Miami Beach, maybe they'll name it the Frisco Beach Bowl.

Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium will host the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl in 2020 and 2021, the NCAA announced Tuesday, bringing another major sporting event to Johnson Controls Hall of Fame Village.

The Stagg Bowl has been played in Salem, Va., since 1993, but will move to Woodforest Stadium in Shenandoah, Texas, in 2018 and 2019 before shifting to Canton.

“Build it and they will come, as they say,” Hall of Fame spokesman Pete Fierle said. “We’re building a world-class venue that will be a great home for the Division III football championships.”

The 2020 game will be either Dec. 18 or 19, while the 2021 contest will be Dec. 17 or 18.
The necessary info from the above article.

Mary Hardin Baylor won it last year. Their program has picked back up in recent years, I remember when they were big in D3. They might be not just the best TX chance for D3, but the best non-WI/OH chance for that matter.
