Well no, you haven't said that until just now. Neither has sportshomer. Neither has streaker. Aka the 3 XU fans that have posted. Try again.

What have I said that could make you think that? All I've done is point out this will negatively affect his chances of getting drafted.

Oh, the humanity!

If it makes you feel any better, BOTH of his parents served in the Marines. I think they're going to impart a little bit of their wisdom into him, just to be sure he gets the message.
Taco,
You don't read much, I guess. But, in the spirit of helping you out, here it is.

You're welcome.

Now, would you please answer my question?

I never said he didn't show a lack of judgement. I said it's not that big of a deal and wasn't going to impact his draft position(as he already wasn't going to be drafted IMO). If a team was going to draft him based on his basketball ability, they still will. This will not change that

If you say so. I'll stick with my opinion based on conversations with teams who don't like the last guy off the bench to be a problem off the court.

This is the entire reason Kaep hasn't been signed to a team. Teams don't want bench players who have off the field/court issues.

I shook my head when I heard this story...don't know Bluiett from Adam, but if you're competing for a job at the next level, getting busted for pot possession makes things very difficult.

At some point we need to expect more from people. It's the major problem that we have knuckleheads in pro sports. We allow them to be knuckleheads in high school and college. Why should we expect them to change. And yes, I'll crossover to pro football, the NFL should not allow Joe Mixon to play in their league.

As e_p pointed out, CK didn't break any laws. However, the point being: no one wants a distraction on the bench.

To be fair, I don't think Bluiett is a trouble maker and after teams do their due diligence into this matter, it won't affect him much going forward.

Yeah might as well get the degree than go overseas because he has not shot at an NBA roster

Xavier will have a really good team next year

Hopefully we get to hear Chris Weber gush over Bluiett's "old man game" next march.

Yep. No idea why it took him so long to withdrawal his name, he wasn't even invited to the Combine, which makes it almost a certainty you won't be drafted. He's a very good college player, not a real NBA talent.

Because there is no downside to exploring options. With how it is set up now, every kid should declare, go through workouts with teams, get feedback, and then make their decision.

I'd guess there is downside to working out if you expose key holes in your game.

Those holes probably were shown before any combine (for someone that has played college ball for 3 years). Someone like maybe Isaac Humphries with limited film it could expose something. He just isn't athletic enough, fast enough, can't create his own shot etc.

If anything I'd think he got told he wouldn't be drafted. Probably a smart move on his part to get a degree and then go to Europe for a a potentially long career

First, it took him until the last minute to come back because this is a year in which the NBA is adding two additional roster spots for each team. These two spots you can use to flex these two players between the NBA and the D-League. In essence it creates 60 new roster spots for young developing players that otherwise get sent to the D-league or Europe. It's why if your a fringe draft pick this may be the best year to go.

I think he came back because this season may elevate his profile to the national stage. He is already getting mentioned as a preseason All-American candidate and Xavier on paper will have their best team in school history. So if he and Xavier live up to the expectations there will be much more name recognition and awards to help his draft stock.

His draft stock is what it is. They could win a natty and it might get him a 2nd round pick.

I disagree. When it comes to upperclassmen college players, there are plenty of examples of a big year with their team, hypes them up far more than many think in terms of the NBA Draft.

At the end of the day, some teams and GM's would rather have a proven college veteran than risk a pick on 19 year old. It happens every year.

Personally, I would understand 100% if he left. This is the best year to leave because of the new NBA Roster spots.

The only instances I can think of it is someone who had insane athleticism and finally figured things out on the court, ie Brice Johnson last year. Or 7 footers who can shoot the 3, ie Kaminsky. Even still, both of those guys were mocked to go in the first round at least a year before the actually went in the draft. That isn't Blueitt.
