I agree. Most league rules restrict tryouts to a set 2 week period, meaning all clubs must hold tryouts at the same time. Intentionally or not, this favors the clubs and puts the kids at a disadvantage because it makes it difficult, if not impossible, for a kid to tryout for multiple kids.
These combines enable the players to get more exposure. While the clubs involved are not calling these events tryouts, you can bet that if they see a stud show up, they will remain in contact with that player and make her an offer when legally permitted.
So, its good for the kid, and makes things more challenging for the clubs.
