The flag worship in this country by some is astonishing to me.

So if the flag and anthem don't exclusively represent the military, then what the heck are you basing your argument on?

Her, of course.....and a few thousand other things, including those soldiers and even cops that would die to preserve them all. Each individually, yet all together. It's amazing what self-absorbed twits like yourself are unable to comprehend. Sad, really. But don't worry - they would die to protect your way of life anyway. Whether you are black, white, yellow, brown, or even purple.

Can't help but snicker a little bit that Kaepernick can't find a job. One he's simply not that good, and two, he brings baggage that he brought onto himself by not standing for the anthem.

I do find it rather funny Spike Lee is trying to make Kapernick not having a job a race thing.

I've only read Lee calling it "fishy". It's pretty obvious he's being blackballed due to the anthem issue and he isn't considered talented enough to warrant withstanding the scrutiny he will bring to any team.

I'll admit, given Spike's history, I made the assumption he meant it's because he's black. The reason I find it funny is because what, 75% of the NFL is black? I could be wrong though. Usually when Spike speaks out it's about race.
Either way, it's also pretty obvious he's an awful NFL QB. He had one really successful year when he first hit the NFL. Then NFL teams figured out how to defend him. He's been sub 60% completions the last 2 years and his advanced stats show he's below average. If he didn't make a stink, then yeah he would likely be a back up somewhere this year. However, teams don't want circus acts unless they need to put butts in seats (see Manziel, Cleveland).

"Blackballed" implies a group conspiring to exclude him, which is ridiculous. A bunch of experienced GMs all coming to the same conclusion - that he isn't nearly good enough for anything other than plucking from the scrap heap - is to be expected. He's just not good.

Hi Weirdo. I meant it figuratively of course. He's definitely good enough to be on an NFL roster, but not good enough to absorb the circus that will surround him as a backup.

I agree with this. If signing him wouldn't bring the circus with him, I feel he'd get a backup job somewhere.

Production<problem=poison
He should hope for a job backing up Cam. That is kind of a match.
Who would create the gimmick he needs for a mere back-up QB ? Nobody is black balling him.
Someone will grab him up when their guy gets hurt.

To the people who try to tie in not standing for the flag & disrespectful of the military....
Do you guys not recall Tommy smith & John Carlos in the 68 Olympics? Nobody thought that was about the military. They were roundly vilified, with Bret Musburger calling them 'dark skinned storm troopers'. Even the silver medalist from Australia (can't recall his name) who participated in the protest by wearing a civil rights button felt heat when he got home.
Now, I didnt support Colin's stance- but to say his (non) stance is disrespectful to the military has no merit
Got a question for anyone reading this who believes Colin dissed the military. Have you served? I did 2 years active and 4 years reserve and I don't feel he disrespected the military at all. I know I have some fellow vets out there. What say you?

I'll answer that for you. No, most of the people who use the military or veterans as political pawns have not served.
