Suburban League Tournament
With the State Duals completed there are a number of great league tournaments this coming weekend. I don't know any that will be tougher or have more ranked wrestlers than the SL Tournament. Nordonia and Barberton are pretty good teams, but they're probably be fighting for fourth place. Highland is well coached and will wrestle hard, but are probably a year away and Copley has 5 or 6 wrestlers that will definitely make some noise. Most of the remaining teams have at least 2 highly ranked wrestlers. Expect to enjoy some exciting and intense matches.

How is the conference Champion determined? 50% duals/50% tournament?
Are there 2 divisions in SL?

The tourney is 1 division.
Yes there are 2 divisions for duals, and there will be 2 champs. But everyone wrestles everyone in the tourney.
There will be a tournament champion, an american champion and a nationap champion.

Yes, there will be an American and a National team championship, but each individual wt. class will have only one champ.

So the duals have their own league winner separate from the tournament.
The last couple years of the NOC which had 18 teams there were 3 divisions and the duals counted for 50% of the conference title and the tournament for the other 50%. They would separate the team scores at the tournament into the 3 divisions.
The weight classes had individual champions.

Suburban League works the same way. 50% for Dual Winner in each Division, 50% for team with most Points in Tourny for each Division.
1 Individual Champion for each Weight Class.

Brecksville, Wadsworth, and Aurora should battle it out for the title. I am presuming full strength lineups for each team - maybe Messer not wrestling for Wadsworth (he was cleared for state duals but ended up not getting utilized), that would be the only one I could think of.

Format for Suburban League this year is semifinalists guaranteed top four, all others wrestle-back for fifth.

Why is that? The semi losers could wrestle consi winners without going over 5 matches?

My mistake it would be possible to exceed 5 matches if semi losers wrestle the consi winners.

I was really looking forward to the Baughman vs Regalbuto match. Not sure what happened. Fishback over Voinovich was a good match. North over Garr was another good one

Key highlights:
Nordonia had their four best kids not wrestle, with it being one week from sectional (Hamad 113, Jones 132, Collica 138, Perrine 160)
Aurora was w/o Willingham at 113, Wadsworth w/o Messer at 152 (Walsh placed fifth in his stead, compared to Messer's likely 3rd)
106 - Brugh beat Castro 3-2 in the semi, Castro 3-0 over Haney in the quarter; Van Voorhis cleared the other side, 9-2 over Sagaris, but was majored 10-1 in the final
113 - Stanley put a little separation on Lewarchik from their dual meet. This one was 8-0, takedowns in each period with the one in the third adding near falls basically right after it.
120 - Butler v Hacker was a very good match, Butler got the better of it 6-3. They should meet next weekend in the final as well.
126 - Carmany dominated as expected
132 - Bronstrup got the win in the final, scored the first takedown against Gorman who defaulted at that point as a precaution. It was during the first period. Certainly a confidence boost for Bronstrup going into the postseason
138 - Both Regalbuto and Baughman were extended a bit in the semi, moreso than expected. Baughman held a 5-4 lead into the later part of the third against Scavuzzo before getting a takedown and the pin; while Regalbuto was in a 1-1 match against Petersen and got a four-point move in a scramble situation.
Petersen 1-0 over Scavuzzo for third, second period rideout, third period escape
Baughman/Regalbuto was not contested. I am speculating 100% precautionary on Regalbuto's part with the match that happens in two weeks time having massive state draw implications
145 - Garr with a very impressive and decisive 8-3 win over Patten, I expected that win from Garr (maybe not that much of a blowout, but I expected a controlling result). North got the first takedown of the final, Garr reversed North to his back for four, and North reversed back to end the first period 4-4; North rode Garr out in the second, escape and takedown in the third. Another positive win for North against Garr, validating why he is a national level wrestler.
152 - Voinovich with a solid 10-5 semifinal win over Twarog. Fishback 2-1 in the final over Voinovich, big confidence booster for Fishback headed into the post-season and a big match with Leonard most likely in two weeks. Voinovich escaped in the second, Fishback counter takedown halfway through the third and rode it out for the win (Fishback went neutral in the third); Voinovich had a deep scoring opportunity in each period and couldn't cash in, Fishback had one other scoring opportunity on a counter but couldn't convert
160 - Loparo won gold, McGhee did not contest the final; Loparo 7-4 over Eyre in the semi, Eyre 8-5 over Rizzo in a quarter (Rizzo did not contest the fifth place match, precuationary I presume)
170 - List dominated his semi against Corrigan, 9-1 and then won a more decisive than the score would suggest 7-4 final over Anderson. Anderson 6-3 over Caniglia in the semi.
182 - Wokojance dominated Vanadia for a second time this year, tech fall in both; you're talking about a projected state champ against a mid-placer type. Vanadia 26-11 over Evan Anerson in his semi
195 - Zentiska 3-1 over McNamara, third period takedown the difference. Hatcher/Zentiska in the final was nothing if not entertaining; Hatcher had a 12-5 second period lead when the Barberton coaches stopped the match to prevent potential misconduct that would have cost their kid next week.
220 - Gesic 4-0 over Jackson in the final, Gesic 3-2 over Leone in the semi
285 - Stadler pinned Linn in the third period.
