It's Fargo...hot and flat. There's a Roger Maris "museum" at the mall.

My understanding is that the team will be staying in dorms with A/C like last year.

That right there has to make that trip so much more enjoyable. There was nothing worse than cutting weight the whole way out there only to make weight then have to go back to your dorm, that was 100 degrees, and continue sweating.

1)Take a jacket or sweatshirt into the Dome...they keep it cool in there.

2)The Fargo Red River Valley Fair is the 9th-14th. Typical 4H fair with animals and typical carnival rides and food. https://redrivervalleyfair.com/

3)The famed Wood Chipper from the movie "Fargo" is located at the visitors center. Go have take a pic and pick up maps of the area.

4)There is a downtown street fair the 18th-20th. Last year it had various booths setup for arts and crafts, along with many food options.

5) If driving, take some lawn chairs and cooler for food. That way you can have a lunch break outside in the parking lot when not wanting to go to a restaurant for lunch. Only wrestlers can take food in the Dome!

6) Plenty of restaurants around. Try looking on Yelp for recommendations. There is a little diner just down the road from the Dome. I'll try and remember the name and add it later. It is a local place with good prices and food.

Roger Maris buried near airport, he broke what at the time was baseballs most sacred record, Babe Ruth's 60 HRs. Black headstone shaped like homeplate engraved: "61 in '61".

The Bison's Turf nearby the Dome, campus hangout, beer & burgers, some local atmosphere.

The Timberwood Lodge near West Acres Mall near motels where alot of teams stay has nice woodsy atmosphere, good steaks, fish, full bar.

The Penalty Box lounge in the Select Inn in same area, just a bar but they have blackjack game which is legal in ND.

not many fans in Dome, but every college and alot of big name coaches there. ..bring fly repellant, the flies in the Dome are killers, apparently they love that sweaty singlet smell..... and binoculars, there are 23 mats and u will be in the stands looking over a crowded floor to find your sons match.

Fargo citizens are as nice people as u will ever meet. Alot of them descendants of Scandinavia & Germany. Listen to the accents.

I found Labby’s Grill and Bar a great place to hang out in between sessions. It’s very close by and less crowded than BW3s. Food is better also.
