Kettering Fairmont D-1 District Rankings (Off Season)

These initial rankings will have the wrestlers ranked at the weights that they competed at last season (minus last yearís seniors). I welcome any insight into which weights certain wrestlers will be competing at next year. Iíll start moving wrestlers to different weights as information comes in, and we move closer to the season.

I love doing these rankings, but as it has been pointed out before, they are just for fun. To any wrestlers who read these and feel that they are ranked too low, you may be right.
I am bound to be wrong on many of the rankings, but fortunately they have absolutely no impact on how anyone will finish at any tournament this season or any other year.

* = unsure about participation or availability

# = a second wrestler ranked from the same school. Iíll include an extra wrestler in the weights that have 2 wrestlers ranked from the same school.

Gonna be a growing year for Fairfield and Harrison( not being the top 10); Fairfield has 5 to 7 young guys who will gain valuable varsity experience this year that will rebound the program in 2020- 2021 wrestling year.

I heard three from Centerville and one from Springboro make the move to LaSalle. Strange for this year as these guys wouldn't have hole to fill, but opens spots for others to get out.

The 220 from Little Miami, Blevins, is at La Salle. He got hurt in football last year. He should do well at districts.

I'd ask if this wins a state title, but if these transfers are legit, I'm not sure how all 4 would be eligible.

Blevins and Haywood did not wrestle last year due to injury. Those two should not have any issue as long as they are healthy.

I believe you forgot Dylan Walker. I also heard that the younger Skinner is also heading that way.

Worth the roll of the dice to recruit in wrestling after OHSAA has made it so clear that the punishment is absolutely minimal if you get caught.

Centerville transfers to Lasalle

Only Heywood and Ryan are headed to Lasalle from Centerville. Heywood moved so no problem with eligibility. However, Ryan would have to sit the second half of the year unless he can prove hardship......Acuna is staying at Centerville as of right now.

Terrell Willis was at Cornhusker WC this spring and says he is thinking HWT for next year as he was already weighing 250 and not an ounce of fat on him. I think he gets out of districts in either weight class if he stays healthy.

At 250 and figuring he plays football, 220 maybe a stretch with weight cutting and being at preseason number 8. At hwt, It's gonna be tough cracking that top 6( Lakota East's Sharp had a 1st period pin of Colerain's state alt. Ehrenschwender at the 2019 GMC title match).

He was wrestling Ehrenschwender at Cornhusker's which is why I felt pretty confident that he would get out at HWT. His skills have improved significantly. I believe he has been getting some private lessons as well.

Eagle 112,
Why does it make sense for all the Centerville kids to be transferring to LaSalle? I don't get it? Please enlighten me...

LaSalle has it going on; schedule, coaching, kids in the room. You probably know more about Centerville than most on here. How does it compare? Some schools offer wrestling and some schools have a program. When a kid puts in more work and time than the program at his school then they are gonna look else where. Not sure if that is the case in this one but more times than not it is. What do you think?

I have no inside knowledge, but outside observations were that Coach Bair was/is a solid HS coach and runs a good program. Is it an elite program? Probably not, but year in and year out they seem to be on the upper side of the bracket competitively and have produced state champs & placers under him.
If kids were leaving because it was a poor program, then I would get it...but its not, that's why I don't.
