You have to follow the flow of the thread. I was totally confused by your post, since they were talking about the Russian and age.

Zahid loses to the Russian 7-5. If either Gable wins or the Russian loses, USA takes the team title.

Russian wins 120 bronze and we're all tied up at 67 each. Steveson is up now

Amazing day for the USA. Amazing two days actually. Three gold medals, three silver medals, and a bronze. Best US Junior team ever. Hope the women's and Greco teams can keep this going.

And that was without Spencer Lee.

If Lee was healthy who would he have potentially replaced on the team? Heinselman?

That's if Lee could make 50kg again. Lee wrestled 126 during the season and 50kg is 110 lbs. I think Lee would have wrestled Daton Fix for that 55kg spot.

If Spencer could have made 50kg we would have medaled at every weight, which is pretty amazing.

Thanks I'm not as well versed in the international weights. I thought Lee and Fix were at different weights last year at worlds.

In 2015, Fix beat Lee in two straight at the US Open to get the bye to the finals. At the Trials, Lee dropped down to 50kg and Fix lost to Micic at 55kg. Micic went on to a Junior bronze, Lee won Junior gold, and Fix, who was still eligible, won Cadet bronze.

In 2016, Lee stayed down at 50kg and won gold while Fix won bronze at 55kg.

Lee went up from 120 to 126 this year and was looking to go 55kg from what I heard. I honestly think we have the best two wrestlers in the world at 55kg at the junior level.

That was the year the Russians boycotted the Olympics. I wonder if they boycotted the Jr Worlds as well. Seven golds seems unlikely if the Russians were there.

They(Russians) indeed did I believe. It wasn't a 'true' Jr. Worlds.

So the women's team wrestled over the last two days and are bringing home two medals. Maya Nelson is in the championship today and Asia Ray won a bronze yesterday.

McKayla Campbell (Wauseon) went 0-1 today at 48kg, losing to a wrestler from India and not being brought back in.

Maya Nelson won gold, becoming the first US Women's Jr. World Champ since 2010. The women took 5th as a team.

Thought Ronna Heaton would do better than 1-1, but Maya winning a gold is amazing.

Big day for Greco tomorrow. Cevion Severado, Taylor LaMont, Kamal Bey, and G'Angelo Hancock wrestle at 3am. LaMont and Hancock are returning bronze medalists and Bey has to be a contender at his weight. I think we get two medals at minimum tonight, which for Greco would be amazing.

Dom Demas on Saturday night will be interesting too.

Kamal Bey world champ! First junior Greco champ since 1999! Severado also takes home a silver medal, while LaMont takes fifth and Hancock went 2-1. Awesome day for USA Greco, hopefully they can win another couple medals tomorrow.
