1. It's August and not January.
2. Several weights are probably wrong.
3. Injuries happen.
4. Upsets happen.
5. Strategic coaches shift weights (which depends on a flip of the coin)

Now that all the obligatory BS is out of the way, here's my prediction based on Flo national rankings (NR) and Boro Fan state rankings. If a wrestler is unranked by Boro Fan, a "?" will be inserted.

Eds vs SPG
106 Seefeldt 4 vs Jordan 2 - tossup
113 Rini 7 vs Martin 3 - tossup
120 Richter 5 vs Moore 4 - tossup
126 Hepner 7 vs Crace 1 (NR 8 @ 120) - SPG
132 Andonian 2 vs ? - SE w/ bonus
138 Kazimir 2 vs Moore 1 (NR 3) - SPG
145 Gallagher 1 vs Stickley 1 (NR 16) - SPG w/ bonus
152 Dover 2 vs Sanchez 3 - tossup
160 Hightower 12 vs Thomas 2 (NR 18) - SPG w/ bonus
170 ? vs Jordan 1 (NR 12) - SPG w/ bonus
182 ? vs Hyden/Craft 8 - SPG
195 Howard 2 (NR 8) vs Braun 2 (NR 17) - SE
220 ? vs Shafer 2 - SPG w/ bonus
285 ? vs ? - tossup

Tally
SPG 7 matches, 4 w/ bonus
SE 2 matches, 1 w/ bonus
Tossups 5 matches

bdhof thanks those predictions made me laugh. 6 ? but yet you provide bonus points for one team or the other. I do agree it's August and all this is just speculation. I will say one thing. No way does Paddy give up bonus to Stickley. SPG will win this dual (injuries aside) but it will be MUCH closer then people hear are saying. IMO

The "?" were just plugged in for weights that weren't ranked by Boro Fan. Hopefully, I didn't miss anyone. Obviously Paddy is very good, ranked #1 as a freshman, but I did give bonus to Stickley due to his national ranking. And come January I'll come out with new predictions that will have a little more data to base them on such as the Ironman.

You can shift Moore / Stickley down to 132/138 and insert Jeffrey Thomas at 145 .

That would definitely make SPG a much better team if they can make those weights. Fill a big hole with a kid who has went 2,3 in his first 2 trips to state. Going to be a lot of great matches and a great dual however the lineups turn out. Seems like Coach Jordan and SPG like to shift or bump weights in big duals a lot more than St Eds.

The real question is how does SPG match up with Blair? This looks to be SPG's best team and best group of Seniors in quite a while. I think they have a real shot at winning the National Championship.

Ed's I think is a year away before they can seriously challenge again.

I don't think they wrestle in a dual so that puts all the money on the Ironman

I love the IM but to determine a national champ, I think that is wrong. Only a dual will be able to determine who is champ. If SPG doesn't have a dual scheduled I bet they try hard depending how the IM turns out.

Ed's wil wrestle both and more then likely lose both. I agree with Curious. One year to early.

Graham will have two chances at Blair, Ironman and Beast, back-to-back weekends in December. There will be other teams in play at both events. Graham does have the Eds dual and will be at the DCC Super Duals, which makes this the most robust/broadest schedule they've had in awhile.

If one team wins both the Ironman and the Beast it will take a lot for them not to be crowned the national champion, regardless of whom that team is.

I hate having to discuss national rankings stuff this early w/o meaningful lineup projections; not even considering we have nothing for results from the season proper.

I'll play, but I'm going to use my version of the lineups, which I think will be more accurate

106- Braun vs Seefeldt/Delsanter, Ed's by DEC, 3-0
113- Jordan vs Rini, Ed's by DEC, 6-0
120- Moore vs Richter, Ed's by DEC, 9-0
126- Crace vs Hepner, SPG by DEC, 9-3
132- Martin vs Kazimir, Ed's by DEC, 12-3
138- Moore vs Andonian, SPG by Fall, 12-9
145- Stickley vs Gallagher, SPG by DEC, 12-12
152- Sanchez vs Dover, Ed's by DEC, 15-12
160- Thomas vs Hightower, SPG by Fall, 18-15
170- Jordan vs Cundiff, SPG by Fall, 24-15
182- Craft vs Lisco/Beard?/O'Mally, Ed's by DEC, 24-18
195- Braun vs Howard, Ed's by DEC, 24-21
220- Shafer vs Bryant/Pietrowski, SPG by Fall, 30-18
Hvy- Santillo vs ?, Ed's by Fall, 30-24 SPG

Final 30-24 St. Paris Graham and that is a best case scenario with potential lineup matchups I feel for St. Edward.

Michigan around same time as Fargo camp. Crace scored 1st takedown and then believe he went down by 2 or 3 points in 2nd. He scored couple takedowns to tied up match up in 3rd as Zak started to fade. Crace sat out event due to being sick so sure he wasn't feeling his best either. In OT Zak was spent but was still wrestling tough and Jordan found way to score big takedown in OT.

Not quite certain how that offended you? Look for an argument elsewhere.
Deleted original post. It was unnecessary. That was, 'my bad.'

Graham is not doing Beast! only Ironman and DCC! I'm sure we are trying to line up a Dual with Blair if the dates work out.

Much closer to reality I believe. Except for a couple of the upper weights I think you hit it right on the head. Ed's will have a transfer eligible by the time of the dual that might help out. I believe you we see many changes between 70-hwy in terms of where they wrestle. The coin toss will be huge.

Because of the school's administration or district policy? Because if not these two trips would be well within the State's travel restrictions. One trip beyond a continuous state would be the trip to Delaware for the Beast and the other trip is to Michigan which is a continuous state and not restricted.

St. Edward is traveling to Minnesota for the Clash to meet up with Buchanan, California, Park Hill, Missouri, and Apple Valley, Minnesota. And of course is also going up to Michigan with SPG for the DCC duals.

Buchanan is the school I picked to win the National Championship after watching them last year dual Ed's and seeing how much talent they have returning.

Blair, SPG, Buchanan are all loaded. I am not sure what Wyoming Seminary is bringing back, but I know they are getting a stud transfer from Kentucky at 106. The kid who won Cadet Freestyle last month from Kentucky

Of course they will not. They dual each other the next week.

I don't have the full list of teams for the DCC Super Duals this year, but they'll both dual DCC and probably three other teams. I think Davison and Lowell are both slated to be there, so they'll probably dual at least one or both of those teams (each returns 10 SQ, though not nearly as good as Eds or Graham).

Call be old. But is this SPG class that tough? The Eagles have a strong group.

The Senior Class? Baumspage says so! Between the 6 of them they have 14 State placements with 7 State Titles and one more season to go?

St Eds wins 8 matches against SPG this year? And Eds still loses? Don't see that, SPG will win more than one of the opening 5 matches imo and they will be the one to win 8 matches. In this scenario SPG would likely bump Rocky to 182 and put Craft in at 170 for a better chance at winning both. Have you seen Rocky lately? That kid has gotten big, makes Micah look tiny.

Moore, Jordan, Thomas, Stickley, and Braun and all nationally ranked and Sanchez is a State Placer.

Excellent Class.

Ed's has one nationally ranked Senior.
