Once again I think the Cavs are fighting an uphill battle. As good as they have been this post season, the Warriors are just so loaded. Regardless of outcome, hoping this series is as good as it has the potential to be. Pulling for Cavs in 6.

Cavs in 7. This is the best team of all 3 final teams. This is the least productive bench the "Superfriends" have had in they're 3 year finals run.

Warriors in 6. I think the Cavs get them once in Oakland, they split in Cleveland but the Warriors take 5 and 6. What's the highest scoring Finals to date? This one may pass that.

Last year I was sure the Warriors would win again, this year I feel the same. We all know what happened last year though.

It will have to be on the Cav's D. Lebron can't deal with both Green and Durant.

Cavs in 6. They go back-to-back and win it on their home floor. GSW are good. Cleveland is better.

The Cavs D in the playoffs has basically revolved around making sure a couple guys don't beat you, and daring the rest of the team to take open 3's. Works great against Boston(save for game 3) when you're leaving open Smart, Crowder, and Olynyk. But you can't mirror that strategy against Golden State.

No shame in losing, even if it's not particularly competitive. Golden State added one of the 5 best players in the league to a 73 win team. Would be similar to if Cleveland replaced Tristan Thompson with Kawhi after last year. Of course they'd expect to win the title going away.

If Lebron can somehow will an inferior team to victory after doing the same thing last year, you have to at least have the conversation about him being better than MJ. There was never a finals where Jordan had the clearly inferior team and won it.

Can you name a year when Jordan went to the Finals with his team even as the underdog ? I can't recall one. The people that want to emphasize Jordan's Finals record over Lebron's completely discount the fact that Lebron has almost single-handedly carried teams by making everyone wearing his jersey better. Jordan had better-constructed teams for the way the game was played and officiated at the time.

Cavs won Finals games last year by 30, 15, 14, and game 7 by 4 - the one truly close game. GS won by 15, 33, and 11 before they blew a 3-1 series lead. Was only game 7 "truly competitive" ?

If they win, it's going to take a Kevin Love playing the best D of his life and continuing to hit 3s as he has done in the early rounds.

If Klay doesn't suck in the finals, as he pretty much has the playoffs thus far, the Warriors should win in 5.

Curry and Klay will both have some crap games against the Cavs, just like they have each of the past 2 years. Hopefully a few at the same time. Klay has always been streaky, and it's been even harder for him to get going with Durant now getting so many touches. Klay can still have tremendous value to them as a defender, though. I think Kyrie still rattles Curry, and Curry will again be below his typical numbers. Durant and Green together will make the difference in their wins.

He hasn't even been streaky throughout the playoffs this year.

I could be slightly off on this but I remember looking this up a year or so ago and the Bulls were a favorite in all of Jordan's finals, and in all but 2 of them were 2-1 or greater favorites. While Lebron's team has been an underdog in 6 of his 8 finals now

That GM should get more credit than Phil Jackson.

Was Jerry West the GM when Zenmaster Phildo was in LA ?

Well we've seen what happens when Phil is given control of personnel decisions.

I think he is basketball's version of what Holmgren did to the Browns. Stealing fat paychecks with his coaching reputation.

That doesn't really hold water as he was great in the regular season, averaging slightly higher minutes, shot attempts and ppg than last year. He's just been playing poorly in the postseason.

He's obviously been focused on defense in the playoffs. That's what they need from him most of all.

Oh obviously, that's why he's playing poorly on the offensive end.

His playoff shots are down. He's probably taking 25% fewer shots than last year's playoffs. He's traditionally made quite a few transition 3s, and most recently has been guarding Patty Mills, one of the Spurs' few threats to penetrate in the absence of Leonard and Parker, in and around a hoop 90 feet away from the one he wants to be scoring at, so yeah. Add to that the fact that he went from being scoring option 2a or 2b last year to option 4 most of this year. Then Durant gets hurt and sits for 20 games right up to the playoffs, Thompson's asked to share option 2 status with Green again for a while, and then go back to being option 4 while doofs like you expect him to just roll the same way as you've seen in previous years. Like I said, he's always been streaky. F_ with his routine, and it should be no surprise he tails off

Why is this so tough for you ?

He's playing poorly on offense and his team is blowing everyone out. He doesn't need to force up more shots while struggling. Patty Mills? His defense against Patty Mills in these blowouts isn't impacting his offense, that's goddamned stupid as hell.

As much as I'd like to see a great series, I'm going with the Warriors in 5. The Cavs have coasted through a very weak eastern conference, then the Celtics lose their most productive player in the 2nd game of the conf finals.

The Cavs will have to play at a very high level throughout the finals to even have a shot. I think they actually played a little above their heads in the playoffs so far this year.

From the Warriors side, they have the pressure on them. They have more to lose by losing the finals. If they get tight, it could affect their play. The other thing to keep an eye on, is Draymond has behaved very well int he playoffs this year. He's seemed to put away the childish behavior that got him suspended in the finals last year, and really paved the way for the Cavs to win. Draymond doesn't get suspended last year, Cavs don't win, IMO.
