Ole Miss...

...is f'ed. Thank goodness. They got too good too fast and there has been too much smoke pouring from down there for there to be no fire. Freeze is a scum, and he is going to be finished soon...and so will the Ole Miss football program.

Tunsil was clearly paid as I said on here and elsewhere months ago. Hope the NCAA nails them and doesn't let them skate

LOL Story of the draft and No surprise. They've had countless schools report them to the NCAA over the last few years. Freeze is a total scumbag. From the Ed Orgeron coaching tree, so there is no doubt he's cheating.

Not only did Tunsil admit to taking money in his interview, but the Instagram stuff was even worse with the Ole Mi$$ coach admitting to paying his mom's rent and utilities LOL

No doubt in my mind the girl sent out there all angry to stop the interview was sent by his agent Jimmy Sexton to stop him from exposing his other client (Freeze).

Would it surprise you to know that:

Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze says he knows nothing about player payments

Quote:
Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze apparently is the last person to know former Rebels' offensive lineman Laremy Tunsil was allegedly given money by a football staff member.

Tunsil confirmed last Thursday at the NFL Draft that he'd been paid by Ole Miss director of football operations John Miller after a hacker posted text messages between Tunsil and Miller on Tunsil's Instagram.

But he may have already told the same thing to another extremely interested party.

Steve Farese, Tunsil's attorney in a lawsuit filed by Tunsil's stepfather, told SiriusXM's Mad Dog Sports Radio he thought Tunsil had already made a similar admission to the NCAA.

These things take forever to go through the NCAA which sucks because by the time the penalties are enforced all the players and coaches involved have moved on. I wish more than anything the infractions followed the coaches more.

Look at Ole Miss' response, and this is before dealing with the Tunsil situation.

Wow, 8 level 1 violations? 11 of the 13 total violations under Freeze's watch? And this is just what Ole Mi$$ uncovered and like you said not even dealing with Tunsil. Imagine what the NCAA will likely find. How in the world does Freeze not lose his job and get a show cause?

Kind of interesting to see how this and 'Bama's situations play out. I am guessing the timing on this was done because Baylor is getting all the negative pub so they can hopefully slide this under the radar.

Perfect timing. Think there were around 4 front page Baylor articles on ESPN and one Ole Miss one. Many don't even realize it doesn't involve the Tunsil situation. Ole Miss doesn't want to fire Freeze just like Baylor didn't want to fire Briles. Baylor simply had to fire Briles though I believe the first to be fired should be those in law enforcement who allowed him to cover things up. I'm very pro police but a very small percentage give the entire profession a black eye.

I think Ole Miss will now sit back and judge the public outcry before making a decision. Unfortunately we live in a society where a majority of the fan/donor base would rather have a team cheat and win than play by the rules and lose.

The culture is beyond that. You've got a decent amount of people who don't even view paying players as "cheating."

Reminds me of the "Meet the Bag Man" article. Reading that article, it could very well be Ole Miss they are discussing.

I honestly wish the NCAA would start putting their foot down and actually handing out punishment. Instead of allowing these schools, coaches and whole athletic departments to self impose punishments that don't truly affect their future. If the NCAA refused to accept their self imposed sentences things may actually start to change. The punishments stick with the coach whenever they're in the NCAA. Obviously they can't control the NFL and if they go to HS there will obviously be a huge pay cut.

Did anyone hear Freeze yesterday at media days? He tried to make himself out to be a victim. The guy is a total fraud.

I found this quote of his interesting....

"I don't have any information that anybody on my staff has been involved in any illegal payments to players or offering any inducements to players, and if I did have that information, I would fire them." - Freeze

So I guess he somehow doesn't have this information...?

1.A booster allegedly provided four recruits with unspecified "inducements" totaling about $2,200. Assistant coach Maurice Harris (Tight Ends/Recruiting Coordinator For Offense) was not only aware of this, but helped arrange the benefits for two of the recruits. Level I Violation
Current Assistant's Derrick Nix and Chris Kiffin were also named in providing impermissible benefits to recruits.

2. Chris Kiffin, Ole Miss' recruiting coordinator and defensive line coach, allegedly arranged for free meals ($709) and free nights at a hotel ($318) for a recruit's family members -- who reportedly were not parents or legal guardians of the player. The monetary worth of the violation is $1,027.

It is rather humorous that the Sporting News bowl projections have Ole Miss playing Baylor. Hmmmm ... I wonder what we would call that bowl?
