Agreed. Ditto Massillon scrimmaging St. Ed a week before the opener. Not what I'd do in either case but what do I know.

I don't care how bad we get beat or how bad we look just so we don't have any injuries.

I think we will get beat 35-0 at Half Time. But I can't wait to see our Bulldogs play!!

GO BULLDOGSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Were going to have a down year. But I still love watching our Bulldogs!!

I hope there are no injuries to both teams.

Two very good LBs but that class will need a boost from the ones above and below. A big boost.

Anyone know what happened to junior RB James Crosby? He was practicing but now isn't on the team.

Again, don't need your approval and the Ignatius injury was published on Cleveland.com in the Ignatius article. It's not a huge secret, especially to the 10 people who still post on these therads.

I've seen enough,10-0 almost at the half with the Bulldogs looking like a young inexperience team.Going to watch the Browns I guess.

Some observations from the first half:

2 screen passes. That's more than I've seen from the Cats in the past five years.

Only 78 players on the varsity. Might be the smallest Cats squad in years. Wonder if it's a reflection of parents not wanting their sons to play football.

Good punting from the Cats.

QB decision still in doubt.

Liked the announcers, in that they often said the parish where the players were from and how they acted in class. Benefit of having students as the announcers, and not having homer alums announce the game as certain schools in Lakewood do.

I always thought Ignatius varsity count was only juniors and seniors dressing with a few top sophomores dressing. I haven’t looked at Ignatius roster this year but I assume you have 110 or so sophomores through seniors. Most schools even in D1 count sophomores through seniors as their varsity roster size. Still low numbers for Ignatius. The Canton area D1 and D2 schools only probably average 35 to 40 juniors and seniors this season. Declining football numbers are becoming pretty widespread. Concussion concerns and Lacrosse seem to be the biggest reasons for the decline.

McKinley will be lucky to win 4 games this year.

Ignatius looked like a team that will struggle when teams force them to pass.

The reason I jumped on you so hard for the above is because it shows you nothing about Ignatius football. Kyle would never send anyone down from the varsity to pump up the JV squad. Nor would Ignatius bump up someone from the frosh squad to play JV football. Ignatius JV football is strictly a sophomore enterprise.

Thanks for the lesson, but clearly reading comprehension isn't thing for you.

I was talking about the current soph class being weak. The "boost" would be from the classes above and below when these sophs are on the varsity. Of course Kyle wouldn't move players up or down.

In my opinion, the Pups will be just fine this year. They will compete for the Federal League crown, make the playoffs as a road team, and hopefully win a first round playoff game.

Going any further than that will take a stronger commitment from the Canton School B.O.E.

Good luck to all.... Go Pups!... sam Mck'68

Yes im a Massillon fan so i mean no harm by this statement but did we watch to different Mck teams? Cuz the team i watched was very undersized half of the offense seem like they didn't kno the playz the line couldn't block worth a crap an the Qb was getting smacked around. Idk i hipe Mck is good because its a good look on stark county when Massillon an Mck is both strong but idk about the pups this year im giving them a 4-6 record this year

Milqcity, You maybe correct, and we will know shortly. For now, Ignatius is one of the class teams in Ohio, and McK is not. From what I saw, in my opinion, McK will have a "good" season, but will not go far in the playoffs.

It is sad to say, but for McK to become a state power, we need the Canton B.O.E. to get behind this team. The school leaders do not want McK to win too much as they want to de-emphasize winning by our athletes.

Good luck to all... Go Pups!... Beat Warren...(I will be in the stands cheering) sam McK'68

I've seen too many teams do great in scrimmages and have average seasons, and poor scrimmages but great seasons. Still picking da pups do get at least a share of the FL title, yet again.

What is is that you think the BOE can do that would propel McKinley into a state power?
