Is there another scrimmage before the season starts? When and where?

Edit: Never mind, I found it.

Anderson was one of the better D2 teams last yr. Iím not sure who they bring back sans the OG going to Notre Dame. Still, they throw the ball the vast majority of the time, not much of a indication as to the type of offense Elder will face. I fully expect the Elder Offense to do whatever they want vs a soft Anderson Defense.

Looking ahead to week 1, Lincoln lost their QB from last year--Michael Lowery--who transferred back to Pickerington North for his senior season. They also lost 3-star DT and TCU commit Karter Johnson who transferred to Pickerington Central. Both of Lincoln's top WRs from last year graduated. The Lions still have RB Justus Harris who scored twice against Elder last year.

Those are such bull s**t transfers. Those kids just happened to move Districts with better programs? My azz. This is the same garbage Wayne pulled a few yrs back. This is why it’s critical for Elder to draw in better talent as Freshmen, you never know which succesful public school program will fudge w/ the boundaries to get upper class transfers. Honestly, the lack of loyalty is pretty disgusting, but it’s becoming the norm is HS football. The gutless State Athletic Associations need to grow a pair.

And I’m not a traditionalist like most of you old ppl, who are so out of touch, you think HS football should be a neighborhood game. You’re wrong, but to bail on your team after 3 yrs, bc you think you’ve got a better shot a state title at one school is gutless.

Reading this article it looks like Lowery moved back in with his mom who just happens to live Pickerington North's district which is where he played as a freshman.

Was Smith the other OG? I heard Bischoff's name at LB. Wasn't there just passing along a few names I heard.

Smith is the right guard at this point. I believe O'Connor is the other WR.

I want to say 3 of the 5 OL are close to or over 300 lbs. 3 of them are only Juniors, which should be good for next year.

Center is Finley...not Ginley

Also, Harmeyer is likely the other LB as well as a kicker.

It was a typo, and Ammon did the Kicking. He’s got a great foot, already put most of his Kickoffs in the end zone.

I don't want to sidetrack the thread too much, but I think the rules about sitting out half the season when transferring from a public school to a private school (like the QBs that left Lakota West for Moeller and LaSalle) should also apply to players who transfer from public school to public school or private school to public school.

I like what the OHSAA has done to try and stop the rampant transferring by making the player ineligible for the 2nd half of the season and playoffs - but if they move districts they keep eligibility regardless of public-private or vice versa, right? The same rules should apply to all schools though. If they're all playing under the same association, they all should be playing under the same rules.

I think it depends on the situation. Sometimes the moves are legitimate, others are just for sports. If it’s just for sports, you’ve gotta pay the price. I know there’s not a 100% fool proof method in determining this, but some common sense would go a long way.

Edit: didn’t hear about Verdon transferring to Moe, huge get for them. Horton, who started at QB for West v Elder last yr is at LS. I’m not sure if they’ll play him at QB or a difft skill position. Both are more athletes, but Verdon is far and away the better passing QB. For some reason, both wanted out after Larry Cox resigned, which has to make you question their thinking process.

35-14. Anderson found some success going up tempo, E Defense wasn’t ready for that.

49-21 at half. E scored in a 40 secs running almost nothing but QB Draws. Luebbe showed some real nice moves, but the Anderson D is awful

A lot of Anderson’s success on Offense was due to Elder mental errors. They weren’t prepared for Anderson going up tempo, got caught with a lot of guys out of position. Blown cvg on 3rd and 20 kept Anderson drive going. Corner took the out route expecting Safety help he didn’t get
