Awesome list. Doubt NE Ohio could match that list.

To be fair, Mike Mitchell is from N. Kentucky and went to Highlands and Brandon Williams went to Harmony Prep for his senior year. So really only 25 for SWO. Impressive nonetheless.

Correct on SWO, if we looked at it for metro Cincinnati then the NKY kids would make sense.

If you go by this list, players active til 2016, NE Ohio is slightly ahead, roughly 35 to 29. When you get into counting practice squad players, it gets a little dicey. The CLE/AK/CAN/YNG region is also going to have a population edge on CIN/DAY area. Central region comes in next with 17. Northwest with 6. SE with Zip. I counted Springfield for SW - but they could go Central just as easy.

That roughly matches up to what I thought it would be. Moral of the story is you could put a pretty good team together with Ohio talent.

Over half of the players in the NFL are from Florida, California, Texas, Georgia, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Louisiana.

IIRC, Ohio has the 3rd most NFL HOFers.

[QUOTE=PeterDragon;6828018]Awesome list. Doubt NE Ohio could match that. Glennville has put 15 players in the NFL over the past 20 yrs alone and 8 players currently active.

Great list indeed... However, are you comparing Greater Cincinnati to Greater Cleveland, or SWO to NEO? NEO still wins that battle...

2017 NFL Draft
#2 Mitch Trubisky- Chicago Bears... Mentor
#11 Marshon Lattimore- New Orleans Saints... Cleveland Glenville
#120 Ben Gedeon- Minnesota Vikings... Hudson
#127 Michael Roberts- Detroit Lions... Cleveland Benedictine
#166 Shelton Gibson- Philadelphia Eagles... Cleveland Heights
#251 Mason Schreck- Cincinnati Bengals... Medina
-That's six right there from "NEO" alone.

Alex Boone- Arizona Cardinals... Lakewood St. Edward
Anthony Hitchens- Dallas Cowboys... Lorain Clearview
Brian Hoyer- San Francisco 49ers... Cleveland St. Ignatius
Brian Winters- New York Jets... Hudson
Cardale Jones- Los Angeles Chargers... Cleveland Glenville
Connor Cook- Oakland Raiders... Walsh Jesuit
Corey Linsley- Green Bay Packers... Boardman
De'Veon Smith- Miami Dolphins... Howland
Derek Wolfe- Denver Broncos... Beaver Local
Devin Smith- New York Jets... Massillon
Doran Grant- Jacksonville Jaguars... Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary
Drew Kaser- Los Angeles Chargers... Walsh Jesuit
Fitzgerald Toussaint- Pittsburgh Steelers... Youngstown Liberty
Frank Clark- Seattle Seahawks... Cleveland Glenville
Jake Ryan- Green Bay Packers... Cleveland St. Ignatius
James Harrison- Pittsburgh Steelers... Akron Coventry
Jamie Meder- Cleveland Browns... Parma Heights Valley Forge
Jarrod Wilson- Jacksonville Jaguars... Akron Buchtel
Jason Kelce- Philadelphia Eagles... Cleveland Heights
Jayrone Elliott- Dallas Cowboys... Cleveland Glenville
John Simon- Indianapolis Colts... Youngstown Cardinal Mooney
Kurtis Drummond- Houston Texans... Hubbard
Kyle Juszczyk- San Francisco 49ers... Lodi Cloverleaf
Najee Goode- Philadelphia Eagles... Cleveland Benedictine
Rodger Saffold III- Los Angeles Rams... Bedford
Shane Wynn- Jacksonville Jaguars... Cleveland Glenville
Ted Ginn Jr.- New Orleans Saints... Cleveland Glenville
Travis Kelce- Kansas City Chiefs... Cleveland Heights
Tyvis Powell- Indianapolis Colts... Bedford
Whitney Mercilus- Houston Texans... Akron Garfield

36 from "NEO" altogether. Might actually be missing some. In fact, Danny Trevathan of the Chicago Bears is originally from Youngstown, but he graduated from Leesburg High School in Florida.

Cincy list is missing Donavan Clark from Finneytown, currently on the Chargers IR.
