I don’t know, Legacy Christian may have passed them on the oldest freshman class with the extra “notables” at the bottom.

146 7th place, not Will Hashill, but Will Hash III (3rd) and believe he is in Versailles school district.

My mistake, River Valley H.S. the one in Gallia County.

River Valley and Versailles were both in oac state duals and had him on the wrong team.

I think 33 state titles speaks for itself. St Ed wrestlers come in as freshman, no transfers and no hold backs.

They have two hold backs right now and both started including one double hold back.

What the Sam heck does that have to do with the fact that it doesn’t look like they have Many kids from OAC coming there?

Maybe they are holding back and didn't do OAC.

This area is very weak for top wrestlers. Ed's will have 5 very good Freshman coming in this season. Two that were unable to compete in the OAC.

Next years prospects for elite kids is not bright either. This year and next is very weak. Just look around, no school in this area had more then two studs.

I got to see the middle school Ohio national team up close a bunch this year, and I have never been more impressed with the amount of talent. Not to mention some of the boys who wrestled for Buxton or other teams. I think this year’s 7th and 8th graders (especially) are straight studs.

Ohio didn’t take a back seat to anyone, at any weight. If these classes are weak, I would like to see the strong ones.

Yeah, that's it, you sound like an expert or some one in denial.

Mailman is way off base on this one....I have had the great privilege to see the soph, fresh, 8th, and 7th grade kids up close the last few years at the jr high lvl and they have competed (successfully i may ad) with the top kids in the country.

When Mailman said "this area"...I think he was referring to NE Ohio or the West side of Cleveland (where Ed's seems to pull majority of their kids), not the entire state of Ohio, but I could be wrong.

I assumed "this area" meant NE Ohio as well.

Gotcha. Maybe I misinterpreted that one. Nevertheless, there are a bunch of really talented young men from all over the state, including the northeast.

I’m sure Ed’s will get more than their fair share of them too, even if they haven’t declared yet.

I would guess the only possible spots at eds for freshman would be 106 or 132. I could see Poole as undersized 132. (Like what Zuckerman had to do at Elyria). I have heard of a very good upper weight coming and assume he is one of the hold backs. Might be a spot at 182, 195, 220 depending on where Garcar (170/182) and OMalley (195/220) end up.

No Boro you are correct. The pool of current 8th graders and present 7th graders is weak in this our area. The current 5th and 6th graders are very good. Just look at the list posted in this thread and none of the following schools have more then 2 high placers going to Elyria, Brecksville, Ed's Wadsworth and even St. Ignatius.
