They'll still win the East on pure talent but there's no doubt they've got one of the weakest coaches in the league

I sure hope Lue is showcasing TT for the trade for Jordan or very bad moves with his rotation.

TT may be ruined. I can't help but think of Neil Young's "The Needle and the Damage Done".

Agree that TT does not fit with this Cavs team. Could not fathom why he was on floor during 4th Q at Indy? Trade needed asap to change team dynamic and provide some interior D. Not sure what to expect v. GSW tonight. Cavs could rise up and play well or it could be ugly early.

Maybe LeBron has the whole team dogging ? is that the "agenda" Lue referred to ? Is he trying to "prove" the need to trade the Nets pick ?

They can't trade it to rent a player. It has to be a franchise-changing player that will somehow lock in.

LeBron is a great player, but he may be an a-hole. Kobe was an in-your-face a-hole. LBJ could be a passive-aggressive a-hole.

First half vs GS offense looked good. Then the second half, especially the 3rd qtr the D looked offensive while the O dropped off. Really thought the Cavs were gonna be blown out at home like they were in 2016 vs GS.

I remember 3 years ago the Cavs started 19-20 and looked even worse than their record. There were a few key trades that changed things for the better. I think maybe that is the case again this year. Cavs started awful then put together a great streak (19 of 21) and now have regressed again.

Defense needs to improve.

Kyrie, the flat earther is a rah-tard (think Alan from the Hangover). Neither LeBron or Kyrie by themselves can beat Golden State barring major injury.

It will take some time to get the chemistry right.First they have to get the chemistry right on the first team. Then get the chemistry right on the second team, which can be very good.I think this will take a couple months but it will be worth being patient for.

GO CAVS!!

I hope you're right. Kudos for the optimism.

I think there is more at work than just solving chemistry issues. More than their 3+ year issue of too many one- and two-dimensional players. Key players like TT and JR have become a joke out there. I smell a rebellion or a tank to force a roster move.

In all honesty, I thought this was a lost year as soon as IT was signed, and that was even when I believed that he'd be at full strength by now. He's an offensive gimmick that's easily exploited at the opposite end of the floor on his best day. Not at all suited for playoff basketball.

I think Kyrie quit last year in a few GS games. Making him play out his contract was not the answer, either, but they should have held out for some 3 team deal that put IT in a city that needed butts in seats and got us a multi-faceted, longer player. It's clear Boston knew they'd get nowhere near far enough with the little smurf IT.

Agreed. He could score 30 per game and it doesn’t make up for his liability on the defensive end.

To me ... IT best fit is coming off the bench ... he would provide instant offense and his defensive liabilities would be lessened by going against the other teams backup PG ... but would his ego allow this to happen????

Vinnie Johnson.

At the end of the day, I don't give a damn about IT's ego. I like the kid, but he's only going to a Cav for 5 more months.

The Cavs have enough guys that can actually play defense- Thompson, Crowder, Green, Shumpert...and Lue needs the stones to play them. Amazing how JR went from a being a great defender back to his old ways.

Pretty sure we are going to see multiple trades by Cavs in next two weeks + before Feb. 8th trade deadline. IT could go in a trade as it appears Lebron is not crazy about sharing the court with him and IT defense is worse than awful. JR could be moved as well or taken out of lineup, he has been bad for 2 years. TT also on his way out of town. Cavs need to make some bold moves to change the dynamic on this team. They are targeting Jordan and Williams with Clippers and George Hill with Kings.

Jordan would certainly help clean up many of the Cavs defensive deficiencies, but I believe next year may be a player option, so he could opt out leaving the Cavs with nothing after the season. Nobody is going to want JR's hefty contract with his game going over the cliff. I don't see George Hill making much of an impact.

Koby Altman is going to be under the microscope the next couple of weeks.

What kind of moron does it take to blame KLove and a "sick day" for the Cavs' woes ? Leading rebounder, second leading scorer. Some people are just pathetic.

They can't make a deal just to shake things up. Hack-a-Jordan is a real thing. Until an intentional foul is always called properly, he's useless in the 4th qtr. More players with a gaping hole in their game, whether it's a 45% FT shooter or a no-D IT, are not the answer.

How good would Wiggins now look here against GS, had they built the right way ?

That's EXACTLY what I thought when I saw the report.

There has been some big time pouting by some players since the arrival of Dwyane Wade, Derrick Rose, Jae Crowder and Isaiah Thomas. J.R. Smith and Tristan Thompson look like they'd rather be in a dentist's chair than on the court.

I love it that some of these players are pressing Altman to trade the Brooklyn pick. Absurd. With the way this team has played, with the obvious undercurrent of discontent in the locker room, it would be ridiculous to part with a pick that could be a foundation player for the future. To a degree, the Cavs' front office has some leverage, at least in my view. They could go to James and tell him, "All right, we'll trade the pick and go after Jordan or Davis if you commit to three more years." If James doesn't agree to that, I think it signals his departure, they keep the pick and start the re-build.

Taco could explain this better than I, but I think there is some part of the soft salary cap in which an expiring contract allows a team to exceed the cap in a way that yields a higher total with three 1 years than could be had with one 3 year contract. As long as LBJ wants to be among the highest paid players, this game is likely to continue. I think Gilbert will have to settle for a handshake.

You are probably spot on with JR & TT. JR wanted to be Robin to LeBron's Batman, and he thinks DWade is stepping on that. TT is Kardashian discontented.
