+1. Previous coach was OFFERED the job. Never applied. Parents there are out of control. Some sense of entitlement going on there. Never gave the man a chance. Can't wait to watch how Big Tom deals with these folks. Oh boy.... grab some popcorn. Hope that he brings along his good friend Conrad Calandar as one of his assistants. Tom is a legend. My guess is, if any of these kids stay, he won't finish the season..... By his own choice!

How did his last couple coaching gigs turn out?
I know he was at Glenoak and then Nordonia, I can't think of much success he had at either place. Has he been anywhere else?

Tom coached state runners up teams at north olmsted.
1985 for sure ....and forgot other years... but.. i think 1989 or 88
Tom develops wrestlers and knows how to win.
Kids are gonna love him.
He taught alot people around these parts a sweerbarrell roll and single; a stingy defense and a great stand up.

Tom will figure out real quick the reason w j is in such big trouble is they have no feeder program, the 75 kids that were there in the dmt room, 70 of them aren't going to wj , plus the 12 thousand dollar a year price tag to attend the school weeds out a lot of people, you send your child to wj for the education, not sports.

I would venture to bet that more than 5 would have been there if JDJ had taken the job, at least from the rumors I heard.
You are correct though, but this has been the case for many years, before DMT it was North Akron. Most of the Akron Area youth kids that were really good used North Akron/DMT as a beacon bringing a ton of top tier kids together to practice full knowing that most of them would be going elsewhere in HS.
It was a means for those kids to get better, most of them anyway.

Lol @ maple stang...give this a rest already.
Walsh is in turmoil. Your boy from solon didn't last very long now did he. This administration has blown up something on the rise. What a shame it's come to.

Heard through the rumor mill that Shaun Tompkins will be assistant coach at Walsh next season with Milkovich next season. Tompkins assisted him at GlenOak as well.
Good technique coach added to the mix, especially with regards to footwork and setups in neutral.
Tompkins was a state champ from Coventry back in 1996.

Hate to say it, but the kids of today will not relate to Coach Milkovich. The parents of today will not relate to Coach Milkovich. Ty Mitch & JDJ are college coaches. They want nothing to do with the high school ranks. Walsh wrestling parents destroyed this program. To be at the top of this sport, dedication is required. Wrestling is a full time sport. Good Luck Coach Milkovich.

Ty Mitch is not a college coach. He will be on staff at Brecksville next year.
