Michael Coleman Hudson 160

Michael Coleman beat Detuan Smith in their quarterfinal match. I think I was the only one to predict that, though I did not post it here for respect of others and Coach Caniglia. Way to go Michael!

How about D-2 220lb. freshman Kordell Chaney making it to the semi-finals. Bet no one saw that coming.

I'm not shocked either, I see him everyday. But I saw no one picking him to place, so I think what he is doing is an upset.

Not sure how many 4-timers won it at 98, but I know for a fact that Wineberg was only the 7th 4-timer in Ohio history and when he won it as a freshman in 91, there was no 98 pound weight class, only 103. Meanwhile we are getting more upperweight freshman champions. Just fyi.

There was never a 98 lb 4 timer. Zimmer both Jordans Hanson and Burnett all won at 98 as Freshmen but all were in higher classes for their next 3 titles

Travis Gusan had a scare yesterday against the guy from Bedford... Got caught in a head and arm to his back in the first minute of the match. He fought out of it and came back to win the match through injury default.

Great sportsmanship from both men... He is impressive Dom (as a wrestler and a gentleman)!

Yes and had their frshman year weightclass been 103 or 106 they would likely NOT have won and been 3 timers . 5 pounds is huge at the first weightclass . If you don't believe "size" at the lowest weight is a tangible take a look at how many 103 state champs or ncaa 118 or 125's were HUGE compared to most of the competition.
