Alliance at Hubbard week 1

What say ye? Hubbard gets a lot of talent back missing from the 2017 season. Hubbard won't throw much this season with a stable of runners including possibly the best duo in the area in Daniels and Morales. Alliance lost a lot but sounds like they have talent back. Their coach said they were reloading in one of the stark previews. Thoughts?

1 week till the opener!

Not too familiar with Alliance other than they had a decent squad last year and lost a pretty good senior class. I gotta go with Hubbard in this one. IMO they have something to prove after a mediocre season last year.

Here is the alliance preview http://www.the-review.com/sports/201...-new-personnel

They lost a ton. Hubbard by two-3 scores.

Alliance didn’t look promising against North Canton...silly penalties and undisciplined. Offense barely moved the ball and punter is a major concern. Any good places to eat in Hubbard before the game?

Francescos does have the best food in town. Home made italian fast casual with New York style pizza. Only downside is they don't do alcohol. If you're looking for pretty good food and a adult beverage Belleria has a nice dine in with good prices(casual italian/sandwiches, burgers). There's also a Mexican spot on the main drag(West Liberty st 304) that's run of the mill. Not a whole lot of options unfortunately outside of those 3.

Mi Ranchitos on W. Liberty. Got to disagree with sportster. It is much better than run of the mill-have been there many times and never been disappointed and the owner is first class. Draft beer is one of cheapest in town. Francesco's on W. Liberty, in Baldine Plaza, would be my other recommendation. Owner in the shop and great food. Lots of parking at both places and very accessible to handicapped patrons. Both would be within walking distance to stadium if you would like. Stadium parking is suspect at best. Parking lot fills early and overflow parking is on side streets.Away side parking is available at police/city building or old Roosevelt school, a couple blocks away.

Its been closed for over a year. Bldg. is empty. Owner is remodeling it to be a realtor's office.

DeOnna's has great gyros. She is in the IOOF Hall bldg. across from Walgreen's at the square in Hubbard. Rts. 62-7 and 304 and 616.

Of course DeOnnas is very good for a gyro or sub. Lol I got spoiled at el jalapenos in warren. Can't complain about Mi Ranchitos. Never had a bad meal.

What about the old Hubbard coffee shop downtown. I read where new owners put a lot of money into redoing the whole building and the outside area. I think it's called Eagle Grill.

You can always stop at Jib Jab Hot Dog Shop in Girard on the way into Hubbard. Just a block off the freeway to the north. Great Milk Shakes. . Convienuent drive through. Fast. Friendly. Cheap.

Just factor in the $150 speeding camera ticket you're going to get mailed to your house LOL.

They weren't reloaded against Hoover.
That one got out of hand. 34-0 in two qtrs.
So let's see how the season goes.
The fun is on the field and I can't wait.

We shall see, that's for sure. Is this the first matchup between these two schools? Roberto? Lol.

Hubbard was one of the 3 teams mentioned in the wfmj week 1 preview tonight. Along with Boardman and Labrae. A lot of big things expected from the eagles this year. 1 week at a time. Need that week 1 statement.

First meeting between them.

What was more interesting is the WFMJ review was by Mark Porter from scoutingohio.com. He was pretty high on the Eagles.

BTW, did you know Jeremia Harris is the son of Frank Harris, former Eagle running back (1996-1997) who held the all-time rushing records until Lane, Smith and Scott came along.

If I was coming down I-80 into Hubbard I would DEFINITELY have to make a stop at Jib-Jab! You can be in-and-out of that place in 25 minutes with a full, happy stomach.

EDIT: Alliance people, as previously mentioned, PLEASE warn as many people as you can about I-80 East through Weathersfield and Girard. Police Officers of those towns sit on bridges perpendicular to I-80 with radar guns/cameras. Will get a picture of your license plate and send you a tick in the mail (if speeding that is).
