Adam Baum ‏@AdamJBaum 12m12 minutes ago

La Salle football coach Jim Hilvert is a finalist for the head job at Baldwin Wallace University, according to sources at La Salle

Hope he gets it. Wouldn't shock me at all if Rodenburg heads to LS and McLaughlin leaves Princeton for Moeller.

First Don Ruberg and now Hilvert exiting. This after last year's mass exodus of teachers.

Hilvert was never serious about LS. Everyone knows he only left TM bc his wife resigned. LS was in the right spot at the right time, that's it.

Neither of those guys were ever serious about LS. However, three titles is a pretty good trade off. And it doesn't really matter who coaches them, their talent level is so far beyond everyone else in D2.

Three D2 titles. Which basically amounts to garbage heap in the trophy case. Not sure I agree that the tradeoff was good.

So you think Rhodenburg is willingly going to move down to a D2 school, essentially taking a step backwards? That'd be like Bolden going to Winton Woods from Colerain.

Not really, he's a LS Alumn. I'm sure he's not happy about having his job security in question after 2 losing seasons and judging from this board, the Moe Alumni aren't too fond of him either.

Show a little class guys and don't discuss Coach Hilvert's personal issues. No place for that here!

Agreed! But this is definitely the place to talk about his wife's personal and legal issues, so carry on everyone.

I cleaned up those posts, but if I remember correctly these incidents were reported widely in the media. This isn't totally rumor and innuendo.

No bout a doubt it. Given the choice between PM and the current coach is like asking a chocoholic to choose between a Hershey bar and a pickle spear. GBM

Which has nothing to do with what he said. Not surprised you couldn't grasp that though.

So Winton Woods is on par with Colerain? Coaching at Colerain is equal to coaching at the Woods?

This post reminds me of a saying, it's better to keep quiet and be thought of as a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

I heard the Baldwin Wallace AD is a lady from Cincinnati. Wonder if her and Hilvert have had any previous connections along the way?

My point was, that was a bad example to use. Especially when your team has lost to Winton Woods at home!

It depends on what aspect you are looking at.

D2 state championships =/= D1 state championships.

Players ranked in Ohio top 100:
2017: Colerain - 5; Winton Woods - 1
2016: Colerain - 3; Winton Woods - 0
2015: Colerain - 3; Winton Woods - 3
2014: Colerain - 3; Winton Woods - 3
2013: Colerain - 2; Winton Woods - 0
2012: Colerain - 3; Winton Woods - 0
2011: Colerain - 4; Winton Woods - 1

So you maybe have the strength room, I wouldn't know. But the other 3? Nope.

You aren't getting the point of the comparison in my post. Would Coach Bolden leave Colerain on his own to coach at Winton Woods? Answer that question.

WW beating Elder at Elder has nothing to do with the point being made. Tip of the hat to the Warriors for beating Elder last year, I know they haven't done that a lot so I can understand the chest thumping and not knowing how to win with some class.
