Central District D4 -

#6 Shekinah Christian upset #3 Centerburg 37-35.

School Enrollment:

Centerburg: 111
Shekinah Christian : 13

Might not seem like a huge upset with the seeds, but Centerburg was one of three clear favorites in the Central District with nobody else supposed to compete.

I was able to see Centerburg twice. Not really impressed with anyone on their team except the Jones kid their coach isn't great either. If their coach does not try and do too much, I'd say they have a bright future. A young core with a really good player to build around.

Sky Brusco is a mediocre coach AT BEST. Fairfield Union fans are still pissed that he managed to waste a 1600 point scorer in Jordan Barr.

Did not know that he was a head coach prior to Centerburg. Just watching them they seemed to lack an identity. After the first time I saw them I thought it was they were simply young. The second time I thought maybe it was potentially a lack of a coach.

Dock, if the kid scored 1,600 points how did he waste him? Or was he an underclassman when he was there?

Division IV in Central Ohio is not very good....that's being kind.

The one gripe I have with the way OHSAA does the tourney is the lack of conformity. Some games are neutral sites all the way through, some are played at a school's home gym for a game or two, some districts have combined to make a super sectional, some haven't. Everyone should have to play under the same circumstances.

Seeding is also different in different areas of the state. NE ohio seeds 1-whatever in each district, while I know Central Ohio seeds 1-whatever for the entire region. Definitely plays a role in who plays who.

The OHSAA doesn't control the Sectional, they allow local districts to make those decisions.

Canton D2

Not really sure how surprising this is, but #7 seed Tallmadge is in District Final after knocking off #2 Louisville and #3 Northwest.

Wow, great win Northridge! I'd say that Taft would be heavily favored in this game. Super job by Northridge.

thanks. Theyve deserved it. Have fought back all year to get to where they are. They arent the most talented team but they are the hardest working and one of the best defensive teams ive seen. People favored taft by 20+.

Olmsted Falls upsets final four team from last year Lorain 60-53. Huge upset in division 1. Lorain had looked almost unbeatable all year and could have challenged SVSM in that region

Lorain losing might be the biggest shocker in any division so far in this tournament. WoW.

That is why you play the games.

100% agree. St V should have a cakewalk to Columbus now unfortunately, but you never know I guess.

Lima Senior should play them tough, but St. V will get the home court advantage in both of their regional games, playing in their backyard at U of Akron. OF and Lima will both have to travel, while St V gets to make the short trek and have home-court advantage. We will see if that plays a role.

^Another reason why Olmsted Falls not playing at CSU and Green not playing at Akron is indefensible. Might as well call it the "St. V's invitational regional".

To be fair, Olmsted Falls fans will travel and show up big-time at Akron.
