Gunner not even winning the starting QB job? Seems like a dumb decision

Gunner Kiel sucks. He'll go down as one of the bigger recruiting busts in a long time. Don't know how his relationship is with the coaches anymore after the fiasco at the end of last season so maybe that played into the decision to not let him start

Have no problem with UC rolling with Moore since they're probably going to have a tough time getting to 8 wins anyway.

Before last season he had scouts telling him if he had a pretty good year he'd possibly go 3rd round. Average year 5-7. Now he's untouchable. Good god.

He'd be extremely lucky just to play in the CFL or Arena League. But hey Zach Collaros is a starting QB up there so who knows

Yeah Kiel's drug addiction certainly seems to have ruined his great chances of playing in the NFL. Really sad.

If that happens, it needs to be the end of the Tubberville era.
Didn't they just give him a contract extension?

I'm not sure I'd say really sad. Yes, college and pro teams just pump painkillers into athletes. That is sad. But how many of them don't get hooked to the point it ruins their career?

You think he would've played in the NFL if he wasn't using?

Without looking at the numbers, Moore looked better to me than Kiel last season. I'd rather develop a young QB than hand the reigns to a turnover machine like Kiel, especially if they aren't going to be good this season.

He definitely would have at least been drafted and had a shot.

Agreed with JC. He's got the build of a prototypical QB. Pretty good arm strength. Those guys get drafted every year.

Tuberville said the QB competition wasn't even close after practice today. Kiel has completely given up I guess

I've consistently heard Trail was even more talented than Moore, just inexperienced.

His drug addiction? You make a very definite statement. You must have some great, verifiable info to make a charge like that.

It's common knowledge that he went to rehab.

Constantly injured and tying to find a way to play through the pain. Unfortunate situation.

Yes, but that doesn't mean anything. Your choices at the point of his contract they were at last year were to either fire him right then and there or give him an extension. If you keep status quo then you have zero chance of recruiting effectively. Of course, recruiting isn't going well anyways.

Trail has more tools than Moore IMO. I'm not sold at all on Moore. I hope I'm wrong, but he doesn't have a very strong arm and he was a turnover machine as last year progressed.

It's a shame Kiel has the off field issues. His head just isn't into it anymore. I do think he would have had a real chance of being drafted. He definitely has the size and arm strength the NFL covets.

Why would they schedule a fcs team with a non conventional offense and defense?

This should be little more than a tuneup game and an extra week of practice for houston. They should still stomp them, but now they have to put in preparation for schemes they wont even see again. Seems incredibly stupid to me.

Moore sucks... this prepubescent kicker sucks... Tuberville spent his recruiting budget on viagra and new cowboy hats hence why UC is now competing with Eastern Michigan and Indiana St for unranked corner backs.

I left at half. Even though they ended up winning 28-7, the fact they were down 7-6 at the half is embarrassing. Put in Trail for the season and fire Tubs after this year.

Agree 100% with Trail, i was saying that by the end of the first quarter.

Tubbs can earn his stay if he's able to turn this around and win 10 games. I've been a firm supporter of his until last night. Just awful. I don't feel good about a single game on the schedule now.
