What's the toughest conference in Ohio?

I say it's the NOC. What do you say?

It's all going to be the same answers for the umpteenth time this type of thread is posted on Yappi. GCL South, MAC and some of the NWO guys will claim it's the TRAC.

I think the better question is the percentage of winning championships when you won your league. I know that the MAC has several divisoins in their league and the winner ususally goes to state. Shoot sometimes they have mutliple teams in the league reach the state.

Pound-for-pound it's the MAC, imho.

This question is asked every year before the start of the season and the answer is always the same, the MAC.

Uh, if you think those D5 and D6 schools in the MAC could compete with Moeller, Elder, and St X, you know absolutely nothing about high school football. Unfortunately for you , it has nothing to do with poundage.

I did look it up. All tough teams, but only 4 private schools, not a real conference. Nice try.

Whether or not they could compete with them has nothing to do with the original question. No one has said they could beat those GCL schools either.

The "best conference" is the MAC.

They are good but here is the final 2013 ranking/

DIVISION I
1, Cincinnati Colerain (19) 10-0 242
2, Austintown-Fitch (3) 10-0 196
3, Lakewood St. Edward (2) 8-1 181
4, Hilliard Davidson (1) 10-0 180
5, Cincinnati Moeller 9-1 148
6, Mentor 9-1 119
7, Hudson 9-1 78
8, Canton Mckinley 9-1 55
9, West Chester Lakota West 9-1 42
10, Cleveland St. Ignatius 6-4 35

Looks like the NOC finished with 2 top 10 teams. Kudos to Moeller for winning it all, but I do not see any other GCL teams.

Even Mentor would be lucky to get through the typical schedule played by a GCL South school with a 9-1 record. The rest, including Hudson, wouldn't even sniff .500 and many NOC schools would be lucky to win a game. It's a different animal.

Its a GCL vs. MAC "tastes great....less filling" argument every year.

I say, "who cares", its time for Ohio High School football, b!tche$ !!!

Which teams are in the NOC. I'm not real familiar with NEO conference affiliations.

Also is this the state poll? Which outlet published these 2013 rankings? I only ask because typicall the Ohio state polls have a distinct NEO bias. St X finished 5-5, but Elder did finish 8-2 and could have easily been on this list.

1. GCL-S
2. MAC

GCL has the best collection of teams if conferences were to play 1v1, 2v2, etc.
MAC has some of the best proven playoff success/titles.

True to an extent, but because they only play each other and not the other members of the conference they can be viewed as a conference on their own. Several publications over the years have ranked the GCLS in the top 5 and even one ranked them #1.

Recently the GCL has taken bigger strides to separate the GCLS from the other GCL schools (now called GCL Co-ed) which encompass 8 schools.

Yet in spite of all of them being far smaller than your school, all but the bottom of the MAC would beat your team. Several would RUTS them if they chose to.

Uh, Moeller last year by themselves, had more D1 scholly winners, than the entire MAC combined. You MAC people don't drink the Kool-Aid you guzzle the Kool-Aid while dreaming of impossible missions.

There's actually 18 schools in the gcl. The other 14 are either all girl or smaller co Ed schools. The gcl south the all male schools.
