eastisbest will become famous soon enough
I don't know much about what goes on there. Kiffin has moved around a lot. Maybe he's not made to handle the big-time stress? FAU seems a nice place to land.

I'm guessing Kiffin told Houstno to f off. Houston had to settle on Major Applewhite. What a moronic buyout clause.

Speaking of buyout clauses...

Houston offers a Herman buyout discount to Texas if they would schedule a home and home series in football and hoops: http://www.cbssports.com/college-foo...-play-houston/

UT takes a pass. Must be good to have unlimited $s...

A buyout clause for the value of a coach's remaining contract value doesn't sound that unreasonable to me, unless you're a really "big name" walking in the door. Kiffin may just have an unrealistic view of his real value.

I just can't imagine that buyout clause would really lead one to choose FAU over Houston if you really had a choice. I don't buy that personally. Why choose the big rebuilding job at FAU over a place where you could win immediately like Houston?

2016 Coaching Carousel

Kiffin needs a job like Florida Atlantic where he can rebuild a program and stay on the right track out of work. If he builds my school into a solid G5 program from where they are at now , a p5 job will surely follow.

That's a lot more impressive than piggy backing Herman and his work at Houston. When personal issues are the main detriment of a candidate, a leadership proving ground like this is perfect

Unless Kiffin has eyes for A&M in a year or two, in which the buyout would be increase 50% of the remaining contract. Not sure why Houston can't accept the fact they're 6th in the pecking order of programs in Texas.

Not head coaches but Denbrock leaving ND to go to UC.

Ranked 32nd best recruiter in CFB.

If we are talking assistants , Kiffin getting Kendal Briles as the OC at Florida Atlantic is another victory for my school

Minnesota hires P.J. Fleck as head coach: http://www.si.com/college-football/2...-gophers-coach

I can actually see that act do well in the Land of a Thousand Lakes, plenty of opportunity to row boats up there when they are not frozen. But this pretty much sums up why he is now in the Twin Cities, "One of the allures of the Minnesota job is that it’s in the exponentially easier side of the Big Ten, as Fleck will walk in the door as one of the West division's most energetic and established recruiters."

Not so fast, it appears Wiscy's DC, Justin Wilcox, will be taking the gig: http://www.si.com/college-football/2...d-coach-hiring

With no apparent NCAA coaches headed to the NFL it probably is time to close this thread.
