Two bad decisions from McSorley and USC made him pay.

Great game. Both teams gave their all.
The USC QB was outstanding as was the Penn State QB. BOTH guys did what great QB's are supposed to do - get the ball into the hands of their play makers downfield. It is no surprise that Ohio States title in 2014 came on the back of a strong armed QB that could accurately get the ball downfield. Coach Meyer must turn the offense over to Burrow.

Disagree. The loss is on the highly paid Penn State coaching staff which stopped being aggressive on offense with 10 minutes left in the game. I'm always amazed at how coaches seem to think momentum is something that can be turned on and off.
The game was lost on Penn States last possession with the lead. Three straight running plays showed a complete unawareness of what was happening on the field. To put the game in the hands of a defense that to that point had given up 42 points and been shredded in the 4th quarter is baffling. The time to get aggressive with McSorley throwing the ball was in Penn States 2nd to last possession NOT the last possession.

That was a long time ago. Weird things happen early in the season. Remember that Stanford beat USC 27 - 10 in week 2 and Michigan beat Penn State by a 49 - 10 score. I suspect that a rematch of either game would look a lot different now.
As an aside, USC might have the best QB in the country (yea even better than Clemson's) and he didn't play against Bama.

Even Brian would agree that Penn State was a force to reckon with at the end of the season.

With Sam Darnold on the bench. That game was meaningless for any comparison today.
It would have been his first start as a redshirt freshman, and the score may have been the same, but that may have been the Trojans' sole loss and USC may have finished the year ranked 2 or 3. There's a fair chance that Darnold would have had a rematch in the playoffs.

D-bag Mussburger just mentioned the coming Clemson/Bama rematch, tOSU beat-down, and then said that Penn State showed today that maybe when you beat a team, you should be considered ahead of them for a playoff, completely ignoring the Pitt and scUM losses I hope 'saders heard him!
Now Mark May is pizzing on tOSU in the OK/Aub halftime show

I don't think McSorley is in the same class with Darnold, myself.

While I would give Darnold the clear edge, McSorley is in the same league as a QB. I would love to have either guy behind the Bucks center.

Brent Musberger just topped the awkwardness of his Katherine Webb moment with that Joe Mixon rant.

And thank goodness for that! NOTHING and I mean NOTHING concentrates the mind like being embarrassed on a national stage. Meyer is an elite coach who will take the necessary steps to FIX his offense to better compete at the elite level of college football. Changes need to be made at offensive coordinator, at QB and in some aspects of Meyer's offensive philosophy. Of course coach Meyer needs to be careful to NOT throw the baby out with the bathwater as Ohio State has been one of the top 3 programs of the last 5 years.
Bottom line is what would have been worse than being beat 31 - 0 would have been had Clemson gone into a prevent defense, Barrett getting "hot" and the final score ending up 31 - 21 with Meyer & Ohio State thinking "hey, if we'd only caught fire earlier we could have won that game."

It kills me that a week ago, the offensive coordinator at Ohio State was fine, and JT Barrett was, as Urban said, possibly his best QB ever (remember he coached Tebow in another life).
Now, in one game, everything must change??
This team struggled offensively since the Oklahoma game. Barrett has thrown less and less, why? Because he's inaccurate!!! Coaches will replace just about every position in football, other than the QB. Ohio State was winning, so Barrett was staying at QB.
The crazy thing is, OSU will go into every game next year as the favortie, win another 11 games and we still won't know how good they are. The big ten is an inferior conference...period.

14Red, who have you seen who said the OC has been fine? All OSU fans have been complaining about the OC's for a year and a half throughout WINS.

Right, nobody liked the OC, and most intelligent fans recognized that JT holds the offense back with his inability to throw the ball

I don't understand how someone can go through life like 14Red does.
