Well who would he play over? Not gonna play over Wood/Dempsey/Zardes up top. Not gonna play over Bradley or Jones in the MF. Leaves Bedoya who is extremely experienced and has played pretty well lately. He's where he should be meaning on the bench as a second half sub.

I don't know. That's what I was asking. He was one of those guys heralded as a savior 3+ years ago and isn't getting any playing time. Seems like USMNT will be forever average.

I personally don't remember hearing his name 3+ years ago. He would have been 13-14. I remember hearing Green and Johannson, and a little of Morris. Not so much of Pulisic and Zelalem. I don't think Zelalem had even decided to play for the US National Team at that point. I don't follow soccer closely day to day, but I follow the national team enough that I would think I would hear those names had they been that widely spread back then.

With that said, even if he was said to be a "savior" 3 years ago, he's only 17. He'll be 19 at the next WC. Meaning he could play in 4-5 WCs(19, 23, 27, 31, potentially 35). PLENTY of time for him to be the "savior" some might have said he will be. I don't think not getting playing time at 17 makes that any less likely or makes those who predicted it wrong

So? The narrative was if he picked the US he'd be a major player and move the US towards being a world power no the pitch.

He is ONLY 17. Messi turns 29 tomorrow. He appears to have talent for sure but he looked like a kid out there the other night trying to keep up with grown men. In his defense, the grown adults for US didn't look much better either LOL. But the point is as he continues to grow and mature, he can become more of a factor for the US. But at 17....the people he is playing against have more experience on the world scene than he does playing 11 v 11.

Give him some time.

Yea and? Hes 19. Same type situation as I laid out with Pulisic. Zelalem has potentially 12 years/4 world cups to do so. Saying these guys could do that doesn't mean theyre going to do it right away. They still need to mature and improve. To act like they''ve been a disappointment or people were wrong already is crazy

Well we learned tonight that Orozco is not capable of playing at this level. Jones/Dempsey/Howard are still all more than capable. Jones and Dempsey had very good tourneys. Howard looked as good or better tonight than Guzan did all tourney.

The German machine throttles Slovakia and looks good doing it. They are coming into form just at the right time.

In what the announcers are calling the greatest upset in international soccer, Iceland just beat England 2-1. The English manager was promptly fired (though he said he resigned). The announcers, who sounded English, could not get over how lousy the English team played and dumped on them continuously.

England

Italy and Germany meaning for the 9th time in a major tournament. Germany is 0-8. They're probably due.

Buffon is a legend but Neuer is the better keeper in 2016. Germany are definitely favorites to me in this match.

Wch sits up in a tree for multiple hours at a time, stares at the ground, and probably doesn't even shoot anything most of the time, and he thinks soccer is boring. Huh

Actually it is worse. I don't spend any money and I still get to kill defenseless animals. Sometimes I trick them with a pile of corn and when think it's safe they call out to the young ones. What I like to do is shoot the mom while the little ones are real close so they can see and mourn forever. If you do it right you can plaster the little ones to because they are so dazed from watching their mom get merked they just stand there! Easy Pickens my friend. Sometimes I let out a big belly laugh after I shoot one, sometimes I just smile and say "thank you God". Then I tie a rope to them and drag them through the woods, letting them bounce of rocks and stumps(who cares they are dead anyway) kinda tenderizes the meat for me when I do that. Oh and last week I shot 6 poor raccoons. Yup I just tossed them into the woods. Basically just crawling carp. Anyway we should hook up and hunt sometime together. It's great!!

I'm partial to Casillas and Kahn, but yeah Buffon is definitely in consideration for GOAT. The fact that this is his 20th year playing for Italy's national team is insane.
