I think Reading wins this again. Indian Hill is a close second but this is what Reading lives for. They will fill 14 weight classes, as they always do. I think next will be a different story, due to IH keeping their numbers strong with such a young team. I hope to see this trend become contagious with other small programs in Cincinnati. It's a shame that so many small program are basically depleted.

Kudos to Coach Nate Eigher and the program he is building at Indian Hill. His rosters are in the 20s and his MS program is providing a solid pipeline annually. He has all weights filled with only 1 Sr and 2 Jr on this season's Varsity team. Indian Hill is in position to take the title this year - but may need wins from Wyoming to take down Reading. Mariemont has roster numbers this year too. With Coach Pittman retiring, the balance of power in the CHL may shift to the East.

Totally agree, What a shame that programs like Finneytown have let wrestling fade away when they held one of the longest running Tournaments for the smaller schools! Dave Bean Classic!

Yeah it's a shame. I know numbers are down everywhere but it seems like coaches do not last very long. Also, I think a lot them are not in the actual building, making it hard to recruit.

Anyone notice that there are only 2 kids ranked in the state out of the whole CHL ! Jackson Hugentobler from Madeira and Baden Pinson from Reading. Both are gonna be obvious choices for CHL wrestle of the year. Looking like Pinson and Hugentobler will be the Best CHL wrestlers for a couple of more years to come.

I Think the CHL coaches should put a summer team together of all the best CHL kids just to see how they match up with everyone .

2017 CHL Championships are next week! Should be one of the best tournaments in past decade. Coach Pittman's final tournament. Some of CHL's best are seniors in their final conference championship - Pinson, Pittman, J Steuerwald, Kimbrough, Frank, VanFossen, Gulino, Padonos, Frankel, Barkley, Griffith, Goheen, Proffitt, etc. Wyoming and Madeira have some of the best wrestlers in the league. Mariemont should show with numbers. Reading should win 4 or 5 classes but can not afford any mistakes if they want to keep the title from Indian Hill. IH is deep and can wrestle with anyone this year.
