Top 5 seeds. Centerville jumped in Wayne sectional. Northmont path is loaded
Springfield couldn't ask for a better draw, except maybe not playing Tecumseh first (Cats have a bad tourney history with Tecumseh). Cats potentially have to play #3, #2 and #1 in Cincinnati to get to Columbus. But one step at a time. As long as this team plays as focused as they were last night at Northland they'll continue playing deep into March.

Wildcats should have no problem With Tecumseh. However we need to get up Early an stay intense on Defense. I GOT Springfield vs Moe in Regional Finals.

Wow I bet 17-3 Oak Hills is surprised they won't need to show up at the District level game to play Springfield--you guys better "pump the brakes" a little bit!

Springfield is legit. I'm a gmc guy but saw Springfield twice. They're the best DI team in Dayton.

Well, I would like to see both Springfield and Wayne at full strength on a neutral court.... but no doubt with the games under their belt Springfield is the top dog in the area.

Only way that happens Vamp is the regional final...I'd be ok with that.

Wayne had a good draw, teams gravitated to Northmont rather than Springfield or Wayne. IMHO no serious challenge before a potential matchup with Mason in the districts. After that Moeller. Wayne at full strength could hang with Moeller. So if both can take care of business we could see a repeat of 2015.

I'm surprised you'd say this, Dayton 3 has the fewest amount of teams in top 10, just Cville and Wayne. I know none of the top 5 went to Springfield but after that seemed like teams weren't afraid of Cats.

Its not that they werent scared. It was either play springfield or have a chance at running into Moeller. Most people would choose avoid Moeller

Not sure what your point is? Cats will be challenged in sectional final and beyond.

Vamps I saw Wayne early I. The year when Smith was healthy and that team can give Springfield all they want have you heard the chances of him being ready for the tournament? Seems like they played a big early in the season too, a 6'7" or so post kid but don't remember the name. Saw Wayne at Bcreek and either played. They should be ok but if both are missing against Centerville that could be a tough game if Cville is hitting open looks. Still a coupe sees away which would give Wayne a month to get healthy

No not talking about Springfield talking about Wayne if Smith gets healthy. I think Springfield and Moeller are the two teams to beat in DI

A lot of interesting results in GWOC recently. Any teams in trouble and ripe for an upset?

Of the top 5 seeds the only one that jumps out is maybe Sidney. Greenville played them tight last night and Sidney is limping a bit down the stretch. How their youth handles the pressure of the tourney will be telling.

Northmont hasn't given any indication they are ripe for a loss, in fact the results down the stretch say otherwise; but Butler-Northmont could be a interesting second round matchup. Butler is 8-2 in the second half of the season, just beat Sidney and Butler-Northmont has always been a rivalry game. Plus there's the "bye" aspect. Butler has 2 games before a potential game vs the Bolts, while Northmont is off for 12 days. Sometimes that bye helps, but 12 days without playing can make teams sluggish.

That make Greenville-Sidney the best game to go to this weekend?

I think you'd be hard pressed to find a closer game this weekend, at least in D1. Three out of the last four games dating back to last season have been decided by 2 points or less.

So I know my plans now for Saturday night going to be at Trotwood. Friday I am leaning towards going to Butler. I think the Miamisburg-Lebanon and Bellefontaine-Beavercreek games will be competitive and then I just enjoy watching Centerville play. I look at games Friday at Trotwood and I know Springfield wins big and I expect Fairborn to do the same. Am I way off base here?

Certainly wouldn't be my first choice of opening round opponents. It's hard enough beating a team twice in a season. A third time on a neutral floor might as well be a crap shoot.
