Last year:
Copley 59, Revere 45
Copley 96, Revere 65
Aurora 55, Barberton 49
Aurora 71, Barberton 63
Tallmadge 68, Kent Roosevelt 52
Kent Roosevelt 63, Tallmadge 50
But I have to admit, I never understood how Barberton lost those two games. Personally, I think the Barberton game might have a larger margin. Their style should lead to more points and not sure Aurora can keep up.

Not a very good effort by Tallmadge. Need to be better than that if they want to win games against better teams.

Highland 67, Aurora 51
Revere 48, Kent Roosevelt 30
Copley 82, Tallmadge 68
Copley jumped out to a big lead early (30-13). Tallmadge clawed back and had a chance to tie it a couple times and as late as the middle of the 4th. Then Copley pulled away from the free-throw line with a couple minutes left to win by 14.
Francesconi and Roberts were both in the 30s.

Close game. Lots of credit to Tallmadge for playing hard and not giving up. Francesconi and Roberts were incredible and Brenner had a triple double. Last game he missed the triple double by one assist. Lots of credit also to both coaches. Tallmadge used 3 timeouts in the first quarter just to tell guys to get back on defense. Copley coach never turned the gas off when it got close. Get high school hoops game.

I could see it. He had alot of really nice assists for layups. Didn't pay enough attention to his rebounds but I could see that too. He's not a flashy player but he's solid in every aspect of his game.

He had 7 assists in the first quarter, maybe it's the quarterback in him. No points in the first quarter. With 3:00 minutes to go he needed 2 rebounds and 4 points and he got them. The Stats aren't BS. Just come watch.

I did, however, see Brenner with my own 2 eyes and I can tell you for certain he was double figures points and assists, because we were specifically talking about it throughout the game. As far as rebounds, I didn't count them, but he had a lot. I know you think you're a know it all, and you like to throw your baiting posts out there, but honestly if you weren't at the game, how would you even be able to comment on this? You do realize that high school players get triple doubles too right? They aren't just limited to Russ Westbrook.

How have the crowds been at SLA games?
I was disappointed in the crowd for both sides at the Tallmadge/Copley game. I guess the Tuesday night and close to Christmas break may have kept the crowd down.
The Kent/Tallmadge game was a very good and loud crowd. A little surprised by that because of Kent's rough start.

Revere at Copley last Fri had a good crowd. Lower level packed on both sides and the upper level probably 20% full I'm guessing? If I had to take a stab at it I would say maybe 1400-1500?

Wasn't at the Tall game but the previous game v Revere ( just missed triple-double) was actually reported in the ABJ by Michael Beaven, as he keeps his own at the games he covers, for what it's worth.

Looks like trouble in Kent Roosevelt basketball land. New coach, 0 wins, new direction, players quitting, angry parents. Anybody have any input other than the obvious being that current group of kids and parents don't like the changes.

I talked to the parent of one player (not a Senior) and they seemed very happy with the coach. Looks like a youth movement.

Seems about right. My contacts are seniors. who obviously weren't happy with their role in the new program. One was a two year starter who has elected to pursue a college baseball opportunity. Always tough for seniors, who were a bigger piece of the previous coach's plan, to accept a lesser role with the new program. Going to cost the programs some wins initially, but hopefully new coach turns things around, especially in such a competitive league.

I know this is off subject, but you folks might have an answer. I'm in Ca. and have no access to area sports sections. Does anyone know if any radio stations air Suburban League, City Series, or other Summit Co. games on the Net ?

Not real sure but the best bets are 640 WHLO, 1350, and 1590 WAKR
