Can't believe I am defending a Johnnie. But Central is nowhere near SJJ in basketball. How many TRAC titles do Central have? District titles. The Irish dropped to D2 and can't get out of Sectionals. Like I said powerhouse football school, with football players playing basketball.

Not as different as I'd thought. Thanks for pointing it out.

SJJ beats Whitmer 53-37 after a 26-9 4th quarter. 15 points from each of the Williams brothers. Vincent Williams was 7/7 shooting, Blake Williams was 4/5 from 3 in the 4th.

Findlay beats SFS 63-61 tonight. Takes some of the air out of the rematch with SJJ on Tuesday.

Was going to go on Tuesday but it's already sold out per twitter. That's ridiculous for a Tuesday game

SJJ wins the TRAC title outright for the 4th time in 6 years after their 74-47 blowout win over SFS. Vincent Williams had the most impressive game I've seen a high schooler play in a long time. He had 30 points, 8 assists, 6 rebounds and several steals/blocks, here is a link to one of those blocks https://twitter.com/BCSNsports/statu...73692329541632. This team is rounding into form at the right time.

What a performance by the Titans tonight. St Francis looked totally rattled by the home crowd

Great story floating around social media about an act of kindness by Nigel Hayes. Some great young men representing NW Ohio

So the rich get richer. I was at the SFS/SJJ JV game on Wednesday, and found out that SJJ got a 6'4 freshman transfer from Fremont Ross a week ago. Why are these kids leaving during the season!

Worth it just for the educational difference.

I will agree with this. Ross is not a good environment both in the classroom and especially on the court and St Joe fails to be a viable alternative anymore

Crazy to think Mark Donnal is a senior this year. IMO what a bust of a player he became, 4 PPG as a senior? Should have went to BG/UT

Dang, missed out on his shot at the NBA by getting a free Michigan degree.

Agree. A UM freebie, not a bad start to life.

Donnal was redshirted as a freshman. He has another season to play. Graduate transfer????

He has had some real nice game vs top competition. Not every player on every team is a star. He got very solid minutes in the big ten, not like he was just a practice player.

What a dumb-dick statement.

Numbers to back this up or just an extremely weak and prejudice opinion?

SJ graduation rate at 99%.

Ross graduation rate at 90%

SJ average ACT score is 27.

Ross average ACT score is 25.

Not too shabby for a public school that does not choose who they educate.

Ross' average ACT on that site is based on 52 responses and SJJ's is based on 71 responses. That is far from indicative of the student body's performance on the ACT as a whole.

"Far?" So they don't teach statistics at SJJ?

I would tell you all the reasons you shouldn't be butt-hurt over this to the point you're making inane challenges but it's too much fun watching someone who paid all that money for an inferior education, squirm.

I thought the same thing when this started but I was waiting on some of the Ross people to reply. At any rate, it is a dumb-dick statement.

Lately it seems, their regular posters seem so down on their own school.

25 on average puts their average at nearly the 80th percentile. That is indeed good for a public institution in that economic market, whereas a 27 (presuming accurate, )might indeed be low for the modified economic profile of a private school like SJJ. Modified, not just because of the real economics. Not dealing with the same real world problems as an open enrollment school sets up an artificially even higher economic environment because of the selective nature. Less SE drawing resources, fewer discipline issues drawing attention....

It's a difficult measure and comparison but Fremont certainly seems by most common measures as good an academic and social environment as SJJ but someone may have been looking for different social connections and thinking those would be had at a private school. Their "loss."

The bottom line is the kid more than likely left for basketball reasons.

Anyone who has seen private education as opposed to public will tell you that you can get a great education at either place. The one big difference is the public has to educate everyone, even those that do not want to be educated, so of course their overall numbers are brought down.

We couldn't find you on the football thread so we had to put the discussion in the back-up sport.

Bad at stats and at logic, guess we're figuring out why the ACTs are so low at Airport High? I did look at a few other comparable non-urban privates (not prep) in the state, which would be similar to SJJ's standing. I would expect that the ACT number is closer to 29.

This argument is so freaking stupid. That website is not reliable and there is no way to see if those statistics are accurate.

Anyone want to talk All-TRAC teams?

Mine would be
Jarius Ward- Lima
Kenny Coleman Graham-SFS
Kyle Nunn- Findlay
Houston King- SJJ
Vincent Williams- SJJ

POY- Vincent Williams
COY- Ed Heintchel

Sometimes a really stupid comment doesn't warrant a reply.
