What a joke and I hope they fail miserably! Telling kids they must play only soccer is a joke. Most college athletes are multi sports athletes this is sad day for soccer. Good news is not these fantastic elite soccer gurus can grab more cash from parents!

There is nothing like playing for your HS team. My daughter played Club at a very high level but liked HS best. Of course if the HS is bad or poorly coached that may be a different issue.

Just from observation, I'd say HS isn't big in Eastern Indiana not well coached, as opposed to the Dayton/Cinci area. But I'm not sure which is more dangerous. I saw teams match up and put bodies on top players at the HS level.
I know several girls who were worn down and reconsidering HS ball by the end of the season last year.

So is your daughter just starting HS or has she already played a year or two? I don't know thing about E. Indiana HS soccer but if girls are not skilled I agree games can get ugly. For the most part my daughter saw pretty good HS competition. To be honest until the first round or two of tournament time when they would match up with a #32 or #16 seed. HS is really the only time girls get any attention from the general public and friends/classmates so they makes it fun. Nobody but family knows what your doing in Club.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to talk about my daughter and Indiana HS soccer, but I doubt anyone other than me would find it interesting. She loves the social side
I'd argue it's more dangerous for elite players at the higher levels than what we have in our part of Indiana (Unless you get close to Indy, Fort Wayne, or Batesville/Lawrenceburg, who get fed by TFA, KHA, and OE). We don't have enough club girls with the acuity to mark stronger players.
I watched the physicality of the Boro/BeaverCreek game and the BeaverCreek/Whoever they beat 5-0 in the playoffs. KD was constantly marked and bodied whenever she got on the ball.

Agree Hoosier dad! My daughter plays for one of the traditional HS powerhouses and the difference in talent can be quite large both on the team and among teams. The DA is great but most kids in the Cincy/Dayton area absolutely live their HS experience. The DA will never be a repository for all of the top talent because of that. IJS

Has anyone thought about how this might affect league play for the non-DA teams? Thought they said they would play MRL, etc...last I checked, it is against most league rules to hold a tryout right now. You can call it a combine all you want. Players will be evaluated.

I posed this very same question on the other thread and it was ignored as well. This DA garbage is strictly a money grab for soccer elites! This DA is a group of soccer guru's that think they are re-inventing the wheel but USA womens soccer is the best in the world! This is wrong on so many levels it won't last too many great multi sport athletes will get missed. DA = Joke

Just about everything you want to know about DA:

I think DA has a good idea who their teams are based on current club players. Just looking to add a few players I'm betting. I think rosters aren't officially nailed down until June or May like normal clubs.

I don't think most parents who are invested in ECNL, DA, or National League are banking on a free ride. Otherwise you'd see a lot more in D2.
