Colerain is a lock for a home game. With a win over Fairfield, they will be #1 seed.
Fairfield is a lock for a home game. With wins over Mason and Colerain, they could be #1 seed.
Moeller is a lock for the playoff. If they win 1 out of 3, they are a lock for a home game. They can get the #2 if they win 2 out of 3 if one of the wins is Winton Woods.
Mason is nearly a lock for the playoffs. They are a lock if they win 1 out of 2. If they win both, they are a lock for a home game. If they win 1 out of 2, hosting a home game will depend on X and Elder results.
Lakota East is very likely in the playoffs if they can beat Sycamore.
Sycamore is very likely in the playoffs if they can beat Lakota East.
Lakota East-Sycamore loser needs a ton of help to make the playoffs.
X is in if they can win 1 out of 2.
Elder is in if they can win 1 out of 2.
Lebanon needs to win out and hope one of Elder or X lose out to make playoffs.
Western Hills needs to win out to make playoffs. If they win out, they are very likely in but could still miss the playoffs.

Great analysis. Thanks jballer.

Looks like Moeller is falling to St. Ignatius. Guess it’s back to the drawing board (slightly). Not sure how you do it! But very impressive.

Moeller got hammered 32-7 by Iggy--might adjust some of the totals that JBaller did!

Updated the projections after the Moeller loss! Moeller can lose out and will still be in the playoffs, and that is looking pretty likely right now as both St. Ed's and Winton Woods are better teams than Iggy.

Updated after some happenings in the CMAC. Western Hills' L2 Divisor will drop to 98 because North College Hill had their game with Cincinnati Country Day canceled since CCD canceled their season. Still pretty much a win out and in scenario for Western Hills.

Is St. X in if they beat St. X but lose to Iggy? If Milford win out and Lebanon win out they both would finish with more points than the Bombers. And one of East or Sycamore will win in week 10 putting them ahead of the Bombers. Colerain, Mason, Moeller and Fairfield are locks and Elder just needs to win one of the last 2.

Scenarios to make playoffs:

Lakota East - Beat Hamilton and Sycamore and guaranteed a playoff spot. Lose to Hamilton, but beat Sycamore, likely in, but need Lebanon's L2s to hold.

Sycamore - Beat Oak Hills and Lakota East and guaranteed a playoff spot. Lose to either Oak Hills and Lakota East and will miss playoffs.

Mason - Beat either Princeton or Fairfield and guaranteed a playoff spot. Lose to both, likely in, but need Lebanon's L2s to hold.

Elder - Beat either St. John's Vianney, MO or Lasalle and guaranteed a playoof spot. Lose to both, likely out, but would be in with a Lebanon loss to Springboro or St. Xavier losing out.

St. Xavier - Beat St. Ignatius and Louisville St. Xavier and guaranteed a playoff spot. Lose to St. Ignatius, but beat Louisville St. Xavier, likely in, but need Lebanon's L2s to hold. Beat St. Ignatius, but lose to Louisville St. Xavier, likely out, but would be in with a Lebanon loss to Springboro.

Lebanon - Beat Stebbins and Springboro, and likely out, but would need help. Too many help scenarios to list.

Western Hills - Beat Shroder and Little Miami and very likely in. Would be rooting against X and Elder. Lose one and will miss playoffs.

If St. Xavier beats Louisville St. X and loses to St. Ignatius, they are projected to be in over Lebanon by 1.26 total Harbin points. This is within the margin of two L2 games flipping from what they are projected.

For X, the following games are projected to go in X's favor but could flip:

Lakota West over Middletown - Lakota West should win, but they struggle offensively so it will be close by default and could get interesting.

Clarkson over Cheshire Academy - Clarkson is only 2-5, but has played a really difficult schedule, narrowly losing to X, Elder, and Moeller among others. Cheshire Academy is a small private school in Connecticut that is 3-2 this year. Who the heck knows how this game will go.

Lasalle over Trinity Catholic, MO - Trinity Catholic is a smaller Catholic school in St. Louis, but they are very good for their division. Lasalle should win, but it will be close.

For Lebanon, the following games are projected to go against Lebanon but could flip:

Northmont over Miamisburg - Miamisburg is 6-2 with both losses by 1 point. They have quality wins over Wayen and Troy. Northmont lost to Wayne, but has beaten Springfield and Lebanon. Northmont should win, but it will be close.

West Carrollton over Stebbins - Both teams are bad, but Stebbins is 0-8 while West Carrollton has at least won a game. West Carrollton probably wins, but who knows.

Milford over West Clermont - Hard to see West Clermont keeping up with Milford on the scoreboard, but they have given Turpin, Anderson, and Lebanon all close games and could do the same against Milford with their Wing T ball control offense. Milford should win though.

Milford, Mason, and Elder have clinched playoff spots to join Colerain, Fairfield, and Moeller, so 6 out of 8 spots are now taken.

Of the remaining teams, the winner of Sycamore-Lakota East is guaranteed a playoff spot while the loser will be out.

That leaves X, Lebanon, and Western Hills for the last spot.

If X beats Iggy and Louisville St. X, they will be in. If X beats Iggy, but loses to Louisville St. X, they will be out if either Lebanon or Western Hills win in Week 10. If X loses to Iggy, but beats Louisville St. X, they will likely be in, but could lose out to Lebanon on L2s or to Western Hills if they can beat Little Miami.

Lebanon needs to beat Springboro, Western Hills needs to lose to Little Miami, and X needs to only win 1 of 2, for Lebanon to have a chance.

Western Hills is in if they beat Little Miami and X loses one of their remaining games.

Update after the X loss to Iggy. Nothing has changed. An X win over Louisville St. X will still see them jump Lebanon, probably.

One more scenario that could happen, if X, Lebanon, and Western Hills all lose next week, the loser of the Sycamore-Lakota East game will be in as the #8 seed.

D1 playoffs and Western Hills? WTH... I do not see them competing with Little Miami so its mostlike a mute point but seems like there are many more deserving teams. How can they get that many points in the CMAC and loosing to schools that have loosing records.

I remember when West High traveled to Colerain for a D1 playoff softball game. Looked like a foortball score...They only had 9 players and one coach...

Region 4 is pretty bad this year other than Colerain. Huber Heights Wayne is currently #10 in Region 3. They would be #3 as the points stand right now in Region 4.

It's possible, but I think Wayne will be in after 3 of the 4 teams in 6-9 spots lose this week. Assuming Wayne beats Trotwood, of course.

JBaller, Elder's previous opponent Vianney received a bye in the Missouri playoffs so they won't play a game this week. Elder's divisor drops to 95 - but how will this affect their final projection?

I disagree. You are conflating the number of Harbin points with quality of the football teams and that isn't necessarily the same. Because of the GMC's 8 game league schedule and the tight geographic packing of Region 4 teams in the Cincy suburbs there aren't as many Harbin points to have as a lot of teams play each other.

But when you look at actual high level games played between the two regions, Region 3's #2 Harbin team Springfield beat Region 4's #2 Harbin team Fairfield 15 - 14. Not a huge quality difference IMO.

Still looking at the #3 seed with a win over Lasalle. Going to be #6 or #7 with a loss. I’ll update the projections in a little bit.
