Urlacher never really had even close to the D around him that Ray had.

If you could add either player to your team, fresh out of the time machine and 24 years old, which one would it be ?

Given the Steelers current situation w/o Shazier I'd take Ray Lewis.

A couple of BAD boys in Lewis and Moss,I think they need to wait awhile if they do get in...much more deserving men on that list for sure.

Moss is the best WR of all time. Like TO I'm sure he'll be penalized for things he shouldn't be and have to wait when he shouldn't.

Of his era, probably. Of all time? Itís so hard to make comparisons of players at certain positions across eras. The rules have progressively become much more QB/receiver friendly over time.

He certainly could have been a dominant receiver in any era. His numbers would look different, due to style of play in some eras, but he had the skills to be a force at any time.

I was thinking more about the top WRís of past eras and what they could accomplish in todayís NFL.

Any football HOF that doesn't include Alex Karras, Dick LeBeau, Jim Marshall or Archie Manning isn't worth the powder to blow it to @#$%.

LeBeau was inducted in 2010.

Archie doesn’t belong in the conversation. Quite frankly, even with the Super Bowl wins, neither does Eli. Only one Manning had an HOF career.

Jim Marshall? Yes.

Alex Karras? Yes.

Don't confuse team success with greatness. Archie Manning was a great NFL QB. He was twice as good as Eli, and just a notch below Peyton. It is his misfortune that he was condemned to play for the expansion-era New Orleans Saints, one of the worst teams in NFL history. Archie played his guts out trying to overcome his team's ineptitude. Typical Manning game: 17-24, 311 yards and 2 TDs. Saints lose, 41-28.

I checked and you're right. Dick LeBeau is in the HOF. How'd I miss that?

Many people forget this, but LeBeau was a Buckeye. He played for Ohio State's 1957 national champs. So did Jim Marshall.

Ray Lewis did not commit murder .... you need to know the facts ... people with RL killed two people in a fight ... Ray Lewis was charged with obstruction of justice because at first he refused to help the police ... but later did and testified against the ones who did.

Interesting question Saders. On first blush the answer would be that considering his speed, height and pure athleticism Moss would dominate at WR in any era. But I'll throw out a caveat. Back in the 1970's the rules allowed DB's to be a lot more physical all over the field. There wasn't a penalty for illegal contact more than 5 yards down the field. So the question would be could Moss handle the increased physicality down field. And it's not just a matter of his size giving him an advantage here, it's a matter of attitude and concentration. Worrying about getting blind sided 20 yards down field can screw your routes up big time.

Bottom line is we'll never know for sure.
