Leading the Central, or the American League ?

Barring injury, I'd say that in the Central Division, it's pretty likely.

If the Tribe starts something like 5-1 or 6-1 then yes, it's a real possibility. The Indians went wire-to-wire once in the late '90s; I can't remember which season exactly. It wasn't the pennant year of '95, because the Tribe started 2-3. It wasn't the 99-win team of '96, because they started 0-3 that year.

Another good win last night. The best thing about last night's game was Carlos Carrasco's solid performance. Cookie went 5 2/3 innings, yielding just a 2-run bomb to Joey Gallo. Carrasco struck out seven. He missed some time in spring training with a tender elbow, and hadn't pitched well when he did work. So Carrasco's effort last night alleviates a lot of worries about his condition.

Carlos Santana is off to a great start, with four hits in two games, including last night's first-inning solo blast. Brantley had two more hits and another RBI. Austin Jackson had two knocks, one brought home a run.

Yan Gomes took another 0-fer. I hope he gets it going soon.

More good work by the pen, though Allen let in a run in the ninth.

Wouldn't be surprised if Miller replaces Allen as closer by the end of the year.... but I think Tito likes the flexibility Miller gives him by NOT being the closer

.................................................. .................................................. ...........this^

I really think he'll just continue to drop Miller like a bomb on the most dangerous block of 3 or 4 hitters in whatever inning projects to be their final plate appearances.

I think Allen has the traditional closer psyche, but Miller is more flexible. You can't afford to use Miller like that unless you also have a solid closer like Allen. It's like having an Airborne unit to weaken the enemy during their approach and a tank battalion in the valley in front of your fortification as a last line of defense.

He hasn't been around anywhere.

His favorite Nordonia football player, RB Anthony Perrine, won D1 at 195 in wrestling. Maybe B's still to happy to be hatin' on anyone

I seriously can't think of a weakness on this team, especially if Kipnis comes back healthy and Brantley stays healthy: excellent starting pitching, maybe the best bullpen in the majors, not a hole in the line-up, versatile bench, one of the top three managers in the game. I know I'm riding on the wave of that sweep, but this team has a chance to be great.

Well, the Tribe is on pace to go 162-0; we can all say that much.

Indians swept the Strangers with last night's 9-6 victory. Francisco Lindor's grand slam erased a 6-5, ninth inning deficit. Lindor got his first three hits of the season, raising his BA from .000 to .300. Lindor had homered earlier in the game off Texas starter Cole Hamels.

Lindor's defensive gaffe in the fifth inning led to a Ranger rally that erased a 3-2 lead and put the Tribe in a 5-3 hole. Lindor hesitated making a throw on a potential third-out grounder, then finally threw the ball away. Two runs scored on the play and another came home on an ensuing hit.

The Tribe had nine hits. Yandy Diaz chipped in with a pair of knocks; Carlos Santana had one hit and drew a bases-loaded walk in the ninth that set the stage for Lindor's granny.

Tribe starter Danny Salazar struck out nine in his five-plus innings. He yielded five runs, but three were tainted by the defensive miscue.

More good relief work, this time by Otero and McAllister. Shawn Armstrong retired the only batter he faced and earned the win. Brian Shaw got the save. The Tribe rested Andrew Miller and Cody Allen.

I think the Indians will win 100-plus, and I believed so even during spring training. I'll say 104-58. They're going to feast on teams in their own division.

I actually know Brian. He tells me he doesn't follow baseball much until basketball season is over. He's all Cavaliers right now. That said, I know that as soon as the Tribe loses two straight he'll be back here saying that Francona should be fired.

Something interesting from Mike and Mike this morning. Both the Tribe and cubs walked off thier home openers, marking the first time that both pennant winners walked off their home openers after meeting in the world series since 1959. Those two teams? The White Sox and the Dodgers. We knocked off the Sox and the cubs beat the Dodgers. lol

Pretty cool to see Brantley get the game winning hit on opening day. Can't wait to get Kipnis into this lineup.

Still think they need another SP. Tough to matchup in a weekend series if you have to go with Tomlin and Bauer for two games

An anomaly. ChiSox SP (Ohio guy) and RPs had it going on tonight. With the exception of the second inning when Salazar kept serving up watermelons, he and the Tribe relievers pitched well, too. Win some, lose some...

Indians are good, but as I said even before the season started they have to address the 4th and 5th starters. Need one more SP so that Bauer can go to the pen.
