Setting up a nice battle before the elections. I hope Trump selects a proven conserative in his/her 40's so he/she will be on the court for the next 30 years.

How can Kennedy do this ? So selfish !

I don't care if they have to wheel him out there like Stephen Hawking. He needs to hang in there until a democrat is in office again, dammit!!

He probably expects to cash pension checks and enjoy life, or some garbage like that. Total BS move.

He retires at full salary, but he's 81 so he probably won't be around much longer to collect it.

Chrissy Matthews just threw a hissy fit on MSNBC.

It's going to be an awesome Summer.

Yes they do and they spoke loud & clear when they elected Donald Trump as POTUS and also returned a republican majority to the Senate.

The midterms are in 5 months and now McConnell is going to be pressed to defend his tweet with those statements. He’ll have to argue why Presidential elections matter that much more than senate elections

Why on earth would he have to argue such an obvious point? It's clear that Presidential elections are much more important then midterm elections. I mean just take a look at turnout for crying out loud.

Oh and as an aside, all indications are that the republicans are likely to increase their senate majority this year.

First we will have unlimited attacks on the legitimacy of Trump's power to nominate a Justice.

Second, the lies and vitriol directed at the candidate will exceed those of Bork and Thomas.

Third, the sun will continue to rise in the east.

Chrissy is still crying on MSNBC!

My advice to his fellow moonbats is forget about Kennedy's replacement. You've already lost that one. Start pumping Ginsburg full of steroids/preservatives/pickle juice. She's 85...and she's next.

and why wouldn't Trump pick someone like himself? Not a Dem, not a Pub. There might be a surprise in this pick. Who defends the working poor these days?

I'd like to see a non-Ivy, non-urban center judge.

Kind of interesting really.

Trump only has 2 1/2 years remaining in this term. There is no way he should be permitted to make the Scotus nominee until the next election !

Not sure steroids/preservatives/pickle juice could help the old lady out at this time. Heck, I don't think she can even stand up on her own these days.

By far the most popular thing Trump has done since his election(other than the tax cut) is the Gorsuch pick. He would do well to stick with that formula and not try and get cute with it.

Are there any Hispanic lesbians on the list? I would love to see the Democrats attack three of their constituencies.
