The other issue for Elder is they're the farthest GCL school from Butler and Warren counties. Moeller and X and even Lasalle now get a significant amount of their players from this area.
I find it hard to believe LS is getting a significant amount of players from Butler and Warren Co. I know one kid is coming in from Beavercreek, but heís the exception, just like the OLB from West Chester that plays for Elder. I certainly wouldnít turn kids away from that area, but realistically, Elder will never have much of a presence up there. They probably have a better shot at pulling kids from Clermont Co (Thomas More) than Warren or Butler.

Youíre right about expanding the reach into the Feeder System. Theyíve got decent footing at St Ignatius, but could really use a presence at St James, St John Dry Ridge, and OLG.

Ultimately,Elder needs to establish a relationship with the Club Teams. Varsity Teams will always be built on the Feeders, but those 2-3 kids from club teams could be the difference b/w 9-1 and 6-4. Again, thatís why the Facility was so crucial, it gives these kids a reason to consider at least consider Elder.

Ramsey’s Playcalling can get stagnant, but looking at these highlights shows how creative he can be in developing a passing game. Look at all the difft ways Trischler lines up. Also, Trischler is an outstanding route runner, so fluid in his stride.

The recruiting comment isn’t a dig, that’s the perception of Catholic schools on a National Level. Mater Dei, Gorman, St John Bosco are 3 of the premier programs in the country, all 3 recruit hard. They’re a friggin football academy, they’re not out to pass judgement.

2 Offensive Lineman did the shuttle run today faster than they ever have before. Also 1 WR benched press more than he ever has. Sorry I didn’t get names.

Shouldn't waste my time - but it's still only July 12, what are you expecting? No depth chart yet, no 7-on-7s yet, what kind of info are you looking for? And a better question, why would anyone who knows anything tell you?

Donít tell me, tell the Forum. And Iím not looking to get insider info out there, just generate some real discussions.

Which Sophs are getting called up to Varsity? I think Johnson, Larkins, Tucker are locks.

Good question......we'll know more after camp I'm sure, but those three would probably be moved up.......maybe Pohlman and Wandstrat......I heard that they are thinking about a defensive position instead of WR.

They should move both to Defense. I could see Pohlman at FS, maybe Wandstradt at OLB. There’s no sense in keeping them at WR when there’s already a glut of talent at that position. Plus, Miller and or Stigler will eventually have to change positions, both would be good WRs.

I think Tucker and Larkins have a legit shot to start or get decent PT. Johnson might be used in a few specific Packages or plays, but Massminster will be the Primary RB.

I really like what Iíve seen from Bittner at QB. I would love to be a receiver for him almost as much as I loved my time as a receiver for Peyton. I canít imagine Bittner will leave EHS without a chance to play for a MAC or CUSA school. He and Trischler make an incredible duo.

Iím a little out of the loop now with this being my 3rd football season out of Elder, though I think an 8-2 year seems feasible. We need wins vs LS and X this year.

I think heís ready to have a GCL POY type of season. He was outstanding at the end of last season when he officially took over.

8-2 is reasonable, but the priority should be 3-0 in the GCL. Itís now been a decade since Elder won GCL outright, and this team has the talent to do it.

Agreed on winning the GCL this year. It should be goal #1. The school needs to get back to the top, and this team is capable in a year where it is winnable.

7 home games and a 8-2, 9-1 type of season would get the juices flowing again. They're due.

Theyíre not what I would call ďLoadedĒ, but theyíre deep at almost every position with good talent. Thereís maybe 4-5 D1 players (Bono, James, Bittner, Kandra, Larkins) but about 7-8 very good HS players (OíBrien, Barret, Hoffmeyer,
Pastoriza, Trischler, Perry, Massminster, Finley). The Secondary outside of OíBrien is my biggest concern.

Ginn has a chance to be D1. Kid is 6 Ď3Ē and 300 lbs.

Elder will be as good as their offensive line allows them to be.

Unless he’s been making a mark at Camps, I can’t see him getting an offer. He’s a first yr Varsity Starter at OG as a Sr. They don’t draw many offers. Carter Smith was 6’3 230 as a Soph, I’d expect him to be up to over 250 going into his Jr yr.

On paper, the OL should be very strong with a lot of size. I’d expect 2-3 of these guys will be over 300 lbs when the season starts.

Ginn is not a Div 1 player. What makes you think he is? What have you seen to make that comment?

Agreed that he needs to show something his senior year on tape. I only said he has a chance. Kid is enormous and not close to being done growing. Needs to have something click so he realizes how good he can be.

Colleges recruit on potential.

They should match up favorably in terms of size vs most DLs, so running the ball shouldnít be an issue. Iím interested in how they hold up in Pass Protection, where you have to be more agile and have solid footwork. Size alone wonít help stop fast edge rushers.
