2019-20 Barberton Magics

Jackie Greynolds has stepped down as Head Basketball coach at Barberton. He will continue teaching at the High School.

2019-20 Barberton Magics

Heard rumblings that a St. V&M assistant is the front runner for the job, but for now itís just rumors to my knowledge.

Hazzard doesn't belong in Ellet, he actually likes to win. They should change the name of that community to Mediocreville.

The Magics will look elsewhere anyway.

I hope Barberton has an open application period instead of just grabbing the first possible person. I would love to see someone like a Chad Hazzard make a run at it. I know Baller isn't going to like this but I would like to see Soyars put his hat in the ring for the job.

I think Soyars is just going to be a continuation of no excitement for the program with empty seats and low participation numbers. They need to find a coach who will bring excitement and someone who the kids would want to play for like Gotto.

Wasn't that supposed to be Greynolds? All the die-hard Magic fans envisioned Jack Jr doing what Jack Sr did, no? Many of you know-it-alls couldn't wait to see Rector go so Jackie Jr could revitalize the Magics.

Just to be clear, this is not an indictment on Jack Jr. It is an indictment on Magic fans

Actually I didnít like the hire, we learned with other famous Barberton names that it doesnít equate to success. I hope Jack Jr. the best in getting his health taken care of, but he wasnít the right hire and I hope BHS gets the right person to energize this program.

Rumor out of Hunky club is that Joe Sarge is taking over and leading the program back to the glory days of the 1970's.

Was at Hunky last night. Heard Sarge is in Charge. He is brining in some great assistants: Varsity Assi: Doc Gallaher and Brad Fix, JV-Storad? And Fresh: Jack Morgan. Not a bad staff.

Larry Hester is an unknown quantity at this point
Does criminal history get taken into account when they pick the coach?

From what I read, an in school bid was being put up. Applications will be accepted after that process is completed.
