Should have moved on from Sullivan but I'm not even sure if a first round exit gets him canned

Pens were outhustled and look disorganized for much of the game. Coming back from 2-0 and going home is not unheard of but I'd say about a 30% chance of that happening unless they seriously step up their game.

Crazy thing is that if they win this series the rest of the playoffs would be played at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn which everyone hates as a hockey venue (including the Barclays Center).

I don't follow the in and outs of the Pens (here in Cincy) as you apparently do Crusader what is it about Sullivan that you don't like? Is your take prevalent in Pittsburgh? Do you feel they need to move in a different direction as a team? I would think if Sullivan was fired he'd have another job inside a week if he wanted am I wrong?

Hockey coaches generally have a short shelf life, even cup winners. It seems maybe hockey coaches more than any other are completely locked into their own system and do not innovate much. That's why there's so much recycling in the league; it's not so much a coach has lost it or is bad, it's just their time is up with that particular team. Mike Babcock might be the only one who changes things up quite a bit and he's more like the Belichick of the NHL, I mean he's completely turned around the Maple Leafs. The players eventually just stop responding to the same message and the coaches fall into changing lines too much because nothing seems to be working. That's what's happened to the Pens the past season and a half.

Chicago should have moved on from Coach Q a few years ago, but they waited and probably wasted the prime years of the Kane-Toews-Keith core. Same with Dan Bylsma, who the Pens kept for way, way too long even though he won a cup. Now, I fear they're going to waste the twilight years of the Crosby-Malkin-Letang core by sticking, yet again, with a coach the players clearly are not responding to.

Hate the Penguins. Always have. No apologies.

Don't mind the Pirates. In fact, I think Cleveland should switch their AAA affiliation to them.

Off topic but winning the AL East is kind of like winning the International League title. Bucs were 15-5 v. East last year. Might have had 90+ wins in that division.

Trotz continues to own Sullivan. Isles looking like they're going to sweep.

Tampa Bay, Winnipeg, and Pittsburgh are the big disappointments so far

Was thinking the winner to today's game would take the series.

I still dont think it is over. If CBJ does not win game 4 and complete the sweep, I wholeheartedly believe it goes 7.

Tampa Bay is my big disappointment team. Not all that surprised with the Islanders after what Trotz did with Washington last year.

Is this a classic example of a team who was in must win and playoff mode for weeks vs a team who had it locked up for quite awhile and coasted and is finding you just cannot flip that switch!

See it more often in baseball it seems.

Why was TROTZ fired from the Caps?

I'd love to see the Pens win but the Stanley cup playoffs are a big commitment as a fan to keep watching game after game series after series. If the Pens aren't going to get to the finals I'm ok with losing in Round 1.

I would like to see the NHL go back to the older playoff format.....

Nice to see Columbus get game 3, I believe that was a huge one for them and hopefully they can close it out at home this week.

Best I could understand is that it was money. He wanted more, the Caps didn't want to pay it.

The question is...

Do the Jackets sweep tonite?

At the very least, I hope it is tied late in the game. The place will be rocking!

The Lightning has quit in two of the three games to date. If Columbus gets a couple of goals ahead, it will be a 6-1 type of game.

Blue Jackets with one of the biggest upsets in sports history. Truly insane. Hope the long break doesn't hurt them

It's probably a godsend. They've been in playoff mode for over a month. They've got to be exhausted mentally and physically
