Why? I thought it showed not even the God of Thunder is immune to grief.

The first few jokes were funny and then it was like ...okay I get it. Luckily they didn't focus on it too much

Ok...I was curious why you thought it was a lame thing to do to his character?

Yeah, I thought the last person in this thread that would have an issue with highlighting mental health in a major movie would be BJF. But everyone has their preferences. I thought they would have had him shed some pounds in a magical, demi-god way after (spoiler) talking to his mom again.

Finally got to see this thing last night and a few quick thoughts:

- Overall a fun night at the movies and a solid 3 *** . Really had a Game of Thrones vibe at times with all the multitude of characters and story arcs getting weaved into one film. Also a total deja vu on how the way the battle ended, but then again I could at least see what was going on during the fighting.

- I still think Iron Man is what drove this bus and Robert Downey Jr. is the best actor in this far flung cast. I also liked Josh Brolin's Thanos, in his mind he was doing the right thing and Brolin made the bad guy more complex than most would have. On the flip side I just do not get Brie Larson, to me she seems like a one note actress that is more about changing her look to show depth of character than true acting chops. Granted she didn't have a ton of screen time but the rumor is she is going to be the leader of the new Avengers and if that is the case things could get bumpy, especially if she keeps up her PC attitude when doing press.

- Fat Thor rocked and the Big Lebowski call outs were funny, should have had him smoking weed too for a full affect. In general I wish they had a little more humor weaved into the story.

- Going forward it looks like the Disney PC machine will be turning out more diverse Marvel film with girl power and marginalized folks leading the good fight against bad men. The thing is the bad guys are the juiciest roles in these films, think Darth Vader, The Joker, Lord Voldemort, etc... I think they are missing a golden opportunity to develop a Thanos like female character as an antagonist because they are worried about the NY Times criticizing them for the choice. Wouldn't it be great to see a strong conflicted Frances McDormand try to wipe out humanity as opposed to the same old mentally unstable guy?

7/8. Hard to say much without going into spoiler territory. The second act could’ve been shorter, but I don’t think they could’ve ended the film any better than they did.

Close enough to my thoughts without the weed joke. A bit distracting. Rocket maybe, ...

Everyone had an important roll to play in the puzzle, something GOT failed to do in their big battle . I give Endgame the win.

Captain Marvel: I'm not serously up on the character but struck me as way too powerful and the absence excuse that there were many other places to be came off weak when the one place to be was causing all those other problems.

crazy that this Endgame is likely going to fall just short of Avatar's all time record. It's currently about $70M away 5 weeks in. It'll be in theaters another 15 weeks but is projected to fall short.

Then again, it's no shocker that 3 of the 4 highest box offices of all time are December releases. There's little competition in December, January and February, whereas Endgame was facing competition by week 3.

Endgame would have slam dunked the record with a December release.

I wonder if they will do something special at the end of June, and/or with Spiderman to boost attendance. I'm hoping for footage from the Black Widow movie that started filming last week.
