What do you think of artificial turf fields?

With the number of rain outs growing, artificial turf fields are the one chance to play when too much rain floods most fields. It's a different surface and creates a different game but at least it stands up to rain alot better. What do you think of using artificial turf fields for softball? Should it become a standard for those that can afford it?

Played on it last night at Defiance for the first time, great facility. I enjoy it and my team enjoyed it. It had rained hard earlier in the day and field was fine, about third innings played in light rain/mist and was fine. I would get it if we had the money.

Ripken Experience has turf fields in Myrtle Beach. They were able to play through the rain. The only negative that I saw was sliding into bases. When it got slick due to the rain, the runners overslid the bags a couple of times. Other than that, games that would have been called due to standing water were able to get the games in on these type of fields.
