WOW! Great find!!

Rosie Ellis aka, Rosie Stephens (the bathing beauty at the bottom of the page) lived very close to us in town about 15 years ago and would stop and talk while out walking. She also bought a drum set of mine around '70 for her son, Ed.

Other than the cold pool and air I bet this was great, great fun for a group who just four years earlier had friends, uncles, brothers, etc. fighting in W.W. II.

I also want to point out my uncanny memory of several of the key events.

Ringo is still rocking!

Ringo Starr and His All-Starr Band played at The Fraze Pavilion in Kettering just last Tuesday night, September 11. It was the last concert for the summer at the outdoor Fraze.

That's very good to know! I know Ringo has hit the road for years with about the same group of friends.

Diva - make sure you check footballfan's link. It's all there.

There are still charlie Davis' in the world today; they are just much harder to find. Mr. Rogers would have loved Davis and vice versa.

Now, I wondering where Davis played pro football... .

It's the autumn of old rockers still touring in the late autumn of their lives! Seeing Ringo perform sounds very cool, indeed.

Jethro Tull guitarist Martin Barre is playing with his own band at Natalie's Coal-Fired Pizza in Columbus next month. Natalie's is an intimate venue with limited table seating, great music, and great pizza.

^^^Many of those are (were?) in my high school/college vinyl album collection:

Bob Dylan's "Blood on the Tracks" (I traded it for unknown album in college)

Bob Dylan's "Desire" (missing)

Linda Ronstadt's "Simple Dreams" (still have)

James Taylor's "JT" (I traded that one in college for a Little Feat album...I think)

The Doors' "LA Woman" (still have...in terrible shape)

Neil Young's "After the Gold Rush" (still have...maybe my favorite album of all time)

I did look at the article. Thank you for posting that, Football fan. I don't know what that young lady had in mind getting in that cold water in the cold air, but she probably accomplished it!

Rosie Ellis (Stevens) wouldn't have turned down a glam shot like that.

I realize that everyone is in a football frame of mind currently, but I ran across an interesting college basketball fact earlier today, so I thought I would toss this question out while it was still fresh in my mind .

Can anyone name the only Division I college basketball team to ever shoot over 50% from the field, over 40% from the three point line, and over 80% from the foul line in the same season ?

Believe William & Mary accomplished this feat, during their regular season this past year.

FootballFan1795,

Excellent ! William & Mary is correct. I was looking at the new Street & Smith College Basketball magazine this morning and read that little tidbit. The article said that William & Mary led the nation in both three point shooting last season and free throw shooting and finished second in the country in field goal percentage from the field. They also finished 4th in the nation in scoring last year. I was just surprised when I read that for some reason.

Great job

Good question and a very good answer by FootballFan1795, but William & Mary still finished fourth in its conference (Colonial Athletic Association). I guess these stats make a good argument for teams having to play defense to be a big winner.

Also, while Bevo was Googling King William and Queen Mary, his Upper Sandusky Rams got another victory (42-6 over Buckeye Central)

ROCK ON!

William and Mary - founded in 1693 in Williamsburg, Va. by a patent (charter?) granted by King William the III and Queen Mary and II.

Upper Rams win tonight 42-6 and hit the half way point at 3-2. Wins over an average team and two very poor teams. Two blow out losses to great squads. May be hard for the boys to finish at .500 as of their remaining five games , they will be underdogs in four and a toss up in the other. Five wins would be a major step forward.

"Quatrains"? Really?

Way to go, Blackhawk! Your use of (not to mention knowledge of) the English language on here has put this thread in a sphere of its own.

Well done, my man. Well done.

I recall when the Nostradamus stuff was making its way on tv 15-20 years ago and everything was so harrowing. Didn't old pal, Orson Wells, narrate these presentations? He was frightening enough and oh so "heavy" in delivery and appearance.

Wonder what he'd say now?

Where's Nosty at when we really need him!

(OWK - just Googled "Nostradamus")

You guys are too funny! I think it's a very positive characteristic that Bevo has such a quest for knowledge. He's shown that trait over the years, so it wasn't difficult to predict his behavior. As for BlackHawk's post about quatrains, well, the only quatrains that I'm concerned with are the quarters of athletic events.

ROCK ON!
