Seth was ruled ineligible due to classes he took at Celina. anybody know what happened? If just a "coding" problem, that couldn't be rectified? Why did it take so long to find this out? I'm just wondering if it's more NCAA bullcrap.
Really bad form by the NCAA. At this point in the school year too. Sure, rules are rules, but if that is the case, why have the Clearinghouse approve him? The kid could have been prepping for the minor leagues had he known earlier.
coding issue regarding one of his high school classes , wasn't approved by the clearing house . Appealed the decision , didn't get approved , he is still throwing live for practices and will go to the Cape Cod this summer.
Basically will work like a red shirt , still can go to the draft at age 21 , junior yr.
Seth was aware of this possible situation 9-10 months ago ,could have went JuCo. But wants a backup plan if pro ball doesn't work out . Degree from THE Ohio State University we be very beneficial after baseball ends , which someday it will. Getting drafted sounds great , but it's no guarantee that you will play on TV. He can go to the draft 3 times out of OSU , junior yr , senior yr or 5th year senior yr. He has 4 years of playing eligibility at OSU.
Duckman said it best. I have never met Seth but now a huge fan. A young man thinking about his future and recognizing what a degree from The Ohio State University means in the working industry. Class move and hang in there, just a speed bump in what will be a successful career ( on and off the field ).
