Just the kind of vapid tech-centric millennial's perspective we've come to expect.
Today, we're much more nationally minded. Recruiting is more national. TV is more national. People from all over the country get together online to discuss football nationally. Regionalism has diminished and with it inter-region rivalries and the prestige of conferences. Many people today would prefer the P5 conferences dissolve and the biggest programs reform as one league regardless of what part of the country they play.

Can you without a doubt say that the CFP Committee has left out a team that, had they gotten in, would have won the Championship? I can't. Every team that's been left out has had their flaws, bad showings, losses, etc. Other than the first season, the best two teams have made the Championship Game and the best team has won.
I can say the first year of the playoffs very few people gave OHIO STATE a chance to beat a SEC team and then get past OREGON. Well, it happened. The lowest seed in the playoffs won it all. When the lowest seed wins it all does that not scream for more teams to be added?

Not upset in the least OSU was not one of the teams this year for full disclosure. My point is I did not give them a chance that first year and they proved me wrong. I didn't give them a chance back in 2002 vs Miami and again, they proved me wrong. I didn't give them a chance vs. Clemson a couple years ago and ........

Not necessarily. And after beating Alabama there were more than a few who thought they'd beat Oregon in the Championship Game - going in did people think they'd pull off both? No, but it was the Bama game that everyone thought they'd lose. The #4 seed has won twice - neither time did I think #5 or #6 would have won the whole thing had they gotten in instead.
2014 - Baylor and TCU, no defense for eithe team
2015 - Iowa and Stanford - the Cardinal looked good but they weren't beating Clemson or Bama
2016 - 2-loss B1G Champ PSU and 2-loss Michigan
2017 - 2-loss Ohio St, non B1G Champ Wisconsin
2018 - UGA and Ohio St - UGA has a case since they played Bama so tough, but they did lose that game

Just because Ohio St has surprised you a few times over the years doesn't mean they should have been in the Playoff in 2015. They weren't even one of the first two teams out, which tells you what the committee thought of their loss to MSU's backup QBs.

I am sure Alabama needs all the help they can get. Does this put Clemson's season in question? Maybe they should forfeit the games these players played in. In all honesty sounds petty to me.

Looking forward to a good game tonight. These are clearly the two best teams and they proved it all year long.

I'll be rooting for Clemson, but if I was betting, I'd take Alabama, 35-31.

As petty as vacating a season of wins, banning a bowl game the following season, and forcing the resignation of a very good coach and person?
All because of selling trinkets for tats?

Yes I realize these are VERY different circumstances. Sucks in both situations.

The tough part of this situation is whether there was intentional consumption of PEDs. But then again, the rule doesn't state intentionally present, only present.

I like Bama and to cover the 6 points. I may be one of the few but Notre Dame would have been in that game versus Clemson were not for poor QB play. They had open receivers and a few big plays were the difference in the game. I think Bama is just on a different level than everyone else. I will take Bama 10+ winners.

I am sure I don't need to remind you the heavy punishment wasn't bc of what the players did.

Clemson needs to establish a run game and give their defense a break.

This. Even their 2 TD drives have come in about 2 minutes of field action. Bama is just going to wear that defense down, probably break off a couple big runs in the 2nd half.

My point wasn’t about the punishment.
Which offense was more petty?
Selling trinkets for tats?
Having PEDs in your system?

Which of those offenses could have the greater game impact?

I think the punishment was too severe in both cases.
In the PEDs case, if this the first instance, I think there should be a retesting schedule set up and reinstatement once the test is clear. Then continued testing. I also think the university should try to determine how the tests could have been positive. I would think they would want to warn others if these players ingested a ‘mis-labeled’ product as the one link suggests.

14 points off of Tua ints. Bama needs to score here before half or they could be in trouble.

Head coach lying to the NCAA is more petty
