I’m just surprised there are no coaches out there that stand out as being obvious candidates to apply and be considered for the Ready job this time around.

I mean, the only ones that would remotely make sense would probably be Ryan Aiello (Newark Catholic), Chris Sawyer (OC at Hartley), and Joel Cutler. But that’s assuming any of them even applied in the first place?

Yeah, I’m stumped.

Let's not be naive... a week after Cutler was let go Cross was blindsided with being fired. I'd be shocked if conversations weren't had with Cutler in the time between. I think it's just a matter of when the announcement is made.

Sounds like Cutler was at the school, so I imagine an announcement will Be forthcoming. Also, heard Cross is a coordinator at Newark Catholic.

Is Cutler expected to make a return?

For all the tough time we give the administration at Ready (which is brought on by themselves) I am excited for this hire. It will bring a jolt back to Silver Knight football.

Will he? He was only there two years. Attracted many kids to the school that could not make it academically or socially-many left or were asked to leave when he did.
He was fired midseason amid an investigation of the wellness of the kids
(http://www.thisweeknews.com/sports/2...strative-leave) Doesnt this seem unusual? Those of you that want to say it is not "Its just Upper Arlington parents" ask yourself if you know of this happening elesewhere in Columbus or at UA?

He was there for two years. And hes the savior of Ready football? The prodigical son? A legend returning home? Seems laughable when you think about it.

We will see how this works out. Ready is desperate. Cutler is desperate. Seems like a good match. But is it going to be a jolt?

Optics of this don’t look good. Fire Cross so they can hire back the coach that left them for a bigger school.

Especially given the reason he was run out of UA and then to trumpet his "faith based" style in the announcement of his return.

I don't mean this an attack on Cutler. I think he is a good coach and likely a very good person, but he made a bad mistake which could have really cost UA big time. It was pretty irresponsible.

Anyway, I don't wish Cutler ill will. Hopefully he learns from the mistake he made. I'll always also be a fan of Coach Cross. I know several guys who played for him at various stops a long the way and they would all run through walls for him.

At the end of the day, Dock, you're right. The optics just don't look good.

Do you happen to know the detials behind his being run out? That was kept very quiet.

Also if the situation at UA was bad enough it makes me wonder why Ready decided to overlook that... especially firing Cross to hire Cutler back. Have an extremely credible source that says Cutler contacted Ready about coming back before they decided to fire Cross.

I'd want zero part of coaching at Upper Arlington.

Details were very hush, hush but to my knowledge there was nothing more than an internal investigation and those results were never publicly conveyed. That's fairly strange in this day and age.

My guess is if he were 7-0 at the time, nothing comes to light.
