NBA Draft
NBA Draft night, who's franchises will be changed tonight?
Is there a Donovan Mitchell in this year's draft? A guy who flies under the radar?

The only thing I'm feeling is that the Cavs will leave us shaking our heads.

The best thing about the NBA draft are the ridiculous outfits these guys sport.

If you would've told me in advance that the Cavs would get Sexton I would have been happy with that. If I knew that Porter would be on the board? Totally different story unless the medical reports are absolutely damning. Minus the injury he's a top 2-3 pick in what appears to be a stacked draft class.

Ugh Collin Sexton.
Drafting for positional need in the lottery over simply taking best player is dumb.
Reminds me of the Browns pick of Ward over Chubb

You wanted the self-proclaimed "Best Player in the Draft", I guess ? No thanks.
Some say LeBron wants to play off the ball. Sexton could get Curry in foul trouble pretty quickly. In some ways he was the best available. The Cavs will still have shooters, regardless of coming moves. I love the pick.

Agreed here. In the lottery, you should always take the best player/guy with the most potential.
Sexton's not bad though. I think he's one of the best guys in this class if you're in win now mode. Safe, high floor player IMO. In 4-5 years I would bet he does end up on an Eric Bledsoe-esque career trajectory.

I wanted Porter, but it looks like the Cavs aren’t the only team worried about his back

Looking like there's huge injury concerns with Porter. I can't believe that the Clippers would otherwise pass with back-to-back late lottery picks at this point.
If that's the case, I'm a much bigger fan of the Sexton pick.

I don't hate the pick. I was worried that the Cavs were going to make one of those "smartest guy in the room" picks we've become accustomed to. George Hill strikes me as a guy who could mentor a kid like Sexton.
Porter's medicals must be a damn mess.

If Porter pans out Denver could be a future Finals contender with the young core they’ve built.
Phoenix still won’t be good but should be a fun team to watch next year

Well for a few minutes I thought the Hornets would trade Kemba to the Cavs. Then they traded SGA, I'm less confident they will.

He now also has a hip problem, but the head may be a bigger problem.
There was a recent interview in which he down-played the back issue and said his coaches had exaggerated it.
Nah. Pass.

Yes. If he's still around. Gotta build a contender, and that's a complete, switch 1-5 wing away. He might tip the scales in a deal.

They could end up with Collin Sexton and another Cav. Part of the reason I love the pick. Retains a measure of fluidity.

Sexton is a good pick for the Cavs. Apparently there is talk that LeBron is high on him. ESPN probably not reporting this because they want him in LA which would be a moronic move for LBJ.
Really thought they would end up with Trae Young.
Michael Porter could have been the pick and then he would sit out the whole season. I could see it now.

I was at the draft last night. Sexton's pick got huge cheers because the Knicks fans thought they were getting Porter next.
I crossed paths with Grayson Allen, Mo Wagner, Jrue Holiday and Spike Lee before the event started. Spike Lee told my buddy who was wearing a Celtics shirt to "get the F outta here".
Really happy with where my two favorite players Mo Wagner and Jacob Evans ended up.

Not sure how feasible it was, probably not since it didn't happen, but I would have liked to seen a Kemba trade without including Sexton.

Stoked about where Evans ended up. I don't like the Warriors, as a Cavs fan, but that was probably the best location for him to land.

Like the Kostas Antentekounmpo pick at the end. Was hoping someone would take a chance on him. I saw him play several times live for Dayton last year. Trust me. He is no where close to being ready. He is as raw as raw can get. He didn’t even crack Dayton’s rotation. But this kid could turn into something. With the right work, he could be a good NBA player. He’s a clone of what the NBA body type looks like these days. Plus, with that name, you have to at least take a chance.

The interview with mom (Sixers employee) and Mikal was great...especially after seeing him shipped to Phoenix like 5 picks later.

The new Bruno Caboclo. 2 years away from being 2 years away.

I'm not much of a fan of Sexton as he is a slasher with a mid range game in a League where Guards need to hit open 3s, defense is OK and he does have the measurables to get better in the League but at 6'2" when he switches he will be at a serious disadvantage. That being said a lot of former players in the media really like him because he puts in the work and is a driven guy, everything he has gotten has been well earned.

Sucks for him, considering it's his hometown team I'm sure he was pumped. He'll have plenty of opportunity to develop with a young team in Phoenix though
